Dj putilla es uno de los varios fragmentos de Fernando Callicó. Tuvo su debut en Staycore, fiesta de Dinamarca en su edición de la Ciudad de México. Actualmente radica en Berlín y organiza la @fiestuki. Encuentro queer que prioriza la inclusión de BIPOC, femmes, latinxs y queers.

@gio_goltara (Giovani Goltara, he-him) has discovered that electronic dance music is where he feels most comfortable expressing himself. Ever since his early rave days, he's been drawn to electronic beats infused with Latin American rhythms. 

Digging through records from the 1990s, GIO uncovered a treasure of productions that appropriated diverse sonorities from the global south. 
Now, he's on a mission to bring these sounds back and re-appropriate them for queer dance events, particularly in Berlin, where he's been organizing parties since 2021. 

One of his standout events is Coven, which focuses on celebrating queer Latin American culture through music and dance.

Directamente desde la pista de baile, disfruta de esta mezcla de GIO (@gio_goltara) y Feasting (@dr_feasting) recorded live en Coven, Berlin.

Ambos nacidos en Sudamérica, Giovani Goltara (Brazil) y Miguel Jara (Chile) comienzan su trabajo en conjunto en el underground de Berlín en el año 2020, participando activamente en el restablecimiento de la actividad cultural de la música electrónica hacia el final de los confinamientos. Su colectivo Coven (@coven666) es reflejo de la necesidad de la apertura de espacios en la escena europea desde una perspectiva interseccional: su identidad queer y migrante moviliza la política de su trabajo desde la anti-colonialidad, la género-disidencia y la apertura de las barreras de clase en la música electrónica.

Tanto su trabajo como selectores y como productores bajo el pseudónimo The Midnight Service (@the-midnight-service) refleja un entendimiento de la influencia latinoamericana y queer en la historia de la música house y evidencia su experiencia y sensibilidad en crear atmósferas elegantes influenciadas por la cultura de club de Berlín de los últimos años.

El presente mix es un recorte grabado en la última edición de Coven en Berlín, incluyendo los sonidos que sin lugar a dudas refleja su actual identidad musical: irreverente, queer y latinoamericana, pero sin dejar de lado la elegancia y el hipnotismo de las pistas de baile de la capital Alemana.

Set recorded at the first May Day Rave produced by Coven (now At Your Service) in 2022. In 2025, we're going to the 4th edition, after a 2024 blow up of a rave. While we manage the high expectations, enjoy this warm-up by GIO.

"The last time I came back from Brazil, I brought home a rare collection of vinyl that my brother, a fortunate crate digger and dealer, had found in a single batch, seemingly from one DJ’s hands. Rare not because of the songs themselves, but because of the stories etched into the objects. Worn and often pirated, these records had once soundtracked Bailes Charme: street parties born from Black communities on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, predating the baile funk era.

After careful cleaning, their voices returned: slow, swaying R&B and mellow house, breathing romance and unapologetic sensuality. This mix, my first recorded entirely on vinyl, is an intimate dialogue with those songs, embracing sentimentality without shame, unafraid of being cheesy, because love is cheesy, and we love to love."

Dj Putilla, @fcallico, is one of several personas of Fernando Callicó. Radio host, promoter, DJ, art director and founder of the itinerant queer party @_fiestuki that happens in Berlin, CDMX, Veracruz and has had editions in Lisbon and Milan, bringing together local and international talent. Resident of the itinerant queer party Por Detroit in CDMX and L.A. and of the Berlin-based radio station Refuge Worldwide, Dj Putilla had his debut at Staycore, Dinamarca’s party in Mexico City. He currently lives between Berlin and CDMX. His sound is reminiscent of the atmospheres and rhythms of the Port of Veracruz. His sets include genres such as baile funk, guaracha, mandelão, dembow, bass, Latinx club, house, jungleton, tarraxo, jersey club, techno, house, ambient, among others. He has performed in different cities across the country such as Mérida, Xalapa, Querétaro, Cholula, Chilpancingo, Mexico City and in other countries such as Italy, Portugal, Poland and Germany. He also stands out for his participation in the Bahidorá 2024 festival and Mystic Creatures 2024 in Poland. His sets have been broadcasted on radio stations such as NTS with Kelman Duran, Threads, Radio Lora, Radio Raheem, Fritto FM, Veneno, Function FM, Refuge Worldwide and also for radios in Morelia (Femme La Nuit), in Mexicali and Ensenada (Antimateria Sonora by UABC) and also for streamings such as Drama Radio Bar and Relink Data.

Artist Bio:
DJ Putilla is one of the many personas of Fernando Callicó. Radio Host, Promoter and Dj based between Berlin and Mexico. He was born in the state of Veracruz, an ever changing place which influenced his taste and approach to music. 

DJ Putilla had his CDMX debut at Dinamarca's Staycore party in Mexico. He also has been an active presence in the queer community in Mexico City, Veracruz and Berlin with his event series: @_fiestuki. 
He’s also a resident of the itinerant queer party in Mexico City and L.A.: Por Detroit and the Berlín based radio station: Refuge Worldwide. 

His style blends music genres such as club, bass, house, mandelão, dembow, jungleton, jersey club, ambient, tribal, techno and many more. His sets are non conforming, fresh, bubbly and dynamic
