Fresh collab from Multi Culti’s Thomas Von Party and Calypso’s Iñigo Vontier — SALSA FINGERS debut on Pigmalião’s ‘I Lost My Poncho In Istanbul’ with two downtempo chuggers. Coco Fantasma takes its name from the forthcoming coconut and ghost pepper salsa that the Canadian-Mexican duo have cooked up. For real. Mouth harp, tribal drumming, and a haunted flute hook make for a low-key floor-filler for the slow-mo house DJs and global neo-shamanic cult builders alike.
Amor Modular takes the familiar Cumbia groove into new territory with a modular synth riff, tight Latina voices take the heat up to 11 and once again, the Salsito’s trademark flute hook brings a perfectly dosed hit of folklorica.

In April 2019 improvising lyricist, producer and sound artist Elvin Brandhi  moved into the 'Villa' in Kampala Uganda working on a collaborative album with several artists from the Nyege Nyege collective.

 Auto-tune blast beats from field recordings of Evangelist churches, the swamps surrounding the studios, with warped drums by Kampala based percussionist Omutaba, improvised stream of consciousness lyrics from local rappers Hakim and Swordman Kitala, with glitched out bassy productions with Boutiq Studio manager Don Zilla and Congolese producer Oise. This new project called Viillaelvin is the  first full LP to be released on Hakuna Kulala.

Copenhagen-based DJ and producer Ingrate is ready with his debut EP ‘With A System In Mind’ out 14th of February via Copenhagen label Anyines.

Having previously roamed the club scene as Kid Antoine, this EP kicks off the moniker Ingrate, presenting a more mysterious and playful world of sonics; radcool speaker stack music, designed “with a system in mind”. The four tracks of the EP continue in the path of the only Ingrate release so far - 2018’s “Crypto Poser/The Enigma" out via Oli XL’s W-I (now Bloom) label. But it’s as if Ingrate is bringing an even quirkier funk to the club this time. Like a 2020 version of Mr. Oizo, if only a little sexier.

The connection to friend and collaborator Oli XL is clear in the sonics of the EP. Both of them masters of teasing the club - making you smile on the dancefloor. Touching on the the banalities and clichés of club music while still seeking new sound territories, the record is a slight tongue-in-cheek, but optimistic take on the dance music scene of the coming decade. Play it in the club, if you dare.

‘Imp’ takes point with it’s babbling percussion, hammering it’s beliefs firmly in steel against a backdrop of falling, redemptive pads. The jealous, hollow sounding cymbal voices of ‘Deceived’ counterpoint their own thoughts of despair. ‘Hoax’ is a sleight of hand spectacle; a svengali trick deck is conjured up and away again, as at the hand of a deception artist in the middle of a thick smoke screen. In the midst of it all, the listener’s only trustworthy companion becomes a mischievous “catch me if you can" synth; teasing, but still leading them, on their way through this world of mirages. 
The EP’s grand finale is ‘Yourself’ - a funhouse of the mind, full of blinding strobes, distorting mirrors and winking figures.

The world is strange, buckle up for the ride.

‘Quiet Bloom’ is the second album by Copenhagen composer Minais B out 24th April on Anyines.

‘Quiet Bloom’ describes the return to life after losing a loved one. As a treatment for his grief, Minais B explores the solemnness of spiritual music, rituals and ceremonial togetherness. This has resulted in an album that draws heavily on the musical tradition of Danish hymns, combined with electronics, synthesizers and organ music.

The album takes us in and out of the multi-coloured feelings embedded in the process of grieving; threads of sadness, emptiness, crisis, but also lighter playful and even joyful passages dominate the album. The latter take form as alert and sometimes ecstatic arpeggios, as on the opening track 'Where We Meet' and later on 'Spirit of Miiyo'; tracks that create sonic spaces for celebrations beyond bodily life. 

The solemness of the organ is a recurring element, and as the organ breathes, it transforms from virtual hammond organs to digital synths and again into real church organs like on the albums two Intermezzos. This exchange between members of the organ family; from the “father of synths”, from ‘real’ to ‘fake’ is equal and respectful, as is the treatment of the different phases of grief and gradual return to the surface that 'Quiet Bloom' represents. 

Love ends up being the successor of emotions, making 'Quiet Bloom' an inspiring journey through the apparent conflicts of the heart and mind - showing a way of using loss to create something new - giving the world something back.

27 Year old Menzi Shabane from the Umlazi township of Durban South Africa was one of the early pioneers of the cities now world famous Gqom scene, having rose to prominence as one half of the Infamous Boiz. In the last few years Menzi has produced for many of South Africa's biggest acts like Babes Wodumo, Moonchild Sanelly, Mahotella Queens, Zolani Mahola and Zakes Bantwini. For the last few years has also been organizing Durban's largest annual Goqm Bloq Party called Festive Road Block Umlazi.

Impazamo presents his debut release. A six track ep that explores his signature dark left field gqom productions that have been rocking Durban nightclubs over the past few years. Over the years he has crafted a unique sound exploring Gqoms textures within different arrangements from the genres usual track structure. The ep also includes a collaboration with Uganda MC Ecko Bazz with the track GQOM Tera.


All tracks recorded between 2019 - 2020 in Umlazi Durban and Boutiq Studios Kampala, Uganda.
