In the label's words:
PhD in Post Human Dance is a slogan of Helsinki based AV collective and event series run by multidisciplinary artist Erika Shalii and CCI artist Maisa Immonen. Post Human Dance is a medium for studying future scenarios through organising events and creating  audiovisual club experiences. It's a platform with a focus on modern hybrid club music and futurist visual aesthetics with elements of interactive new media. "Wings of Ephemeridae" was compiled to finalize first 2 years of "Post Human Dance" platform's existence. 

For one short instant the personal becomes one with the individual and all-knowing Ego. But this instant is enough to show them the whole chain of causes which have been at work during their life. They see and now understand themselves as they are, unadorned by flattery or self-deception.

No but seriously, when you seek to make an expression, of your dreams, your reveries, you look towards that marker and it howls to you. Almost weeping, you hit it, an absolute cell of reference is called down and it sounds unerringly like this release. So well-met, hmurd, quietly, a soothsayer of little club mutations, has produced this very countenance. It’s seely music -- deserving of compassion -- and if you email hmurd for the code that runs it, you’ll find a litany of $ signs which speak to this. Innocent figures which swill along. A hub world, e-delightful. Line to line in joy.

The name Xiao Quan sparks a question mark and confuses tons of listeners. His nationality, cultural background and behaviour are topics that everyone who knows him for the first time want to talk about. Those are also the themes he is more than happy to play with in his music. In fact, he has lived in Shenzhen, China for two years, when Oil Club wasn‘t even open.

Cultural symbols from Asia and Africa have appeared more and more frequently in world’s art scenes in recent years, although the status of self-consumption in content and consumption by the Western world is still unchangeable in a short time. As a producer from São Paulo, Xiao Quan’s "Connection" EP uses a generalized and concrete way to create cultural symbols as he operates them and make them sound normal and casual, which is impossible for many original creators of culture, especially in mainland China, which is almost derailed from its tradition now. Xiao Quan is just like us (Chinese people and producers), absorbing and using a large amount of information from around the world.

"Connection" EP is undoubtedly based on the Xiao Quan-style black humor, and the connection with the Asian and African culture he deeply loves. Unlike in the past, he really participated as a member of Asian culture through FunctionLab this time. From the first sound of "Rolling Barrel”, like the sound of a dragon coming out of the fog, drums from Asia and Africa came through and wore it to the end, warm and obscure. Does the rough Chinese vocal sample appearing in the track puzzle you? This is the voice that Xiao Quan doesn't understand very much but crazy in love with. The fun is self-evident. As for elaborate arrangements and superb production techniques, these have never been the case for Xiao Quan.
