Club Late Music is an open-source and collaborative music label born between Paris and London in the mid-2010s. Since then, the platform brought forward a large community of artists called Global URL Nation working on the basis of shared knowledge and creativity to craft experimental club music and multimedia works.

Specifically, GUN resorts to multiple media and formats from contemporary digital culture and music to experiment with decentralization in the form of v/a compilations, art exhibits, audiovisual projects, and collaborative efforts. To this last category belongs the GUN UNITED series, where a given member (or members) of the community manages to join forces with artists of their choice. The latest installment, the third, is now coming in form of a digital EP almost exactly one year after the previous episode courtesy of the Italian sound artist P I T.

Called Senti/Mental Illness, the record is curated by the producer and DJ Mattia Cremonini aka HeedLess, who authors a very rich blend of bass music (UK grime mostly), industrial, dark ambient, and heavy rhythmic components already appeared on labels such as Wile Out, katharsis, Classical Trax, and many more. The 4-track release, out next Wednesday, March 9th, comes with cover and visual works by chaggrin and mastering by Lorenzo Targhetta. Other than the opening solo track, the work also gathers collaborations with the Slovakian DJ GÄP, the Australian DJ / producer Lithe, and the musician POL100 born and based in Ferrara, Italy.

The collaborative record reflects around relationship breakups and the hardcore feelings associated with them - also reflected in the tracks' titles - such as despair, profound nostalgia, and the burning sense of courage and hope that may come with new bonds being born from the ashes. The heartfelt work brings the contribution of the aforementioned artists, each carrying their load of past experiences, artistic inspiration, and creative energy materialized in compositions of hyper-melodic textures, distorted vocals, and tight progressions.

Today, we're glad to be premiering the remarkable closing piece of the EP, titled BROKEUP, and produced by HeedLess and POL100. The exactly 5-minutes-long track is a dramatic charge of snappy breakbeats, eerie and distorted melodies, and distant, unintelligible voices figuratively emerging from the recesses of one's memory to bring forward unease and pain. It's up to the listener whether to welcome and overcome them towards closure and acceptance, or rather drown in the sorrow and descend on dark paths. Both choices are equally viable.

HeedLess & POL100 - BROKEUP [PAYNOMINDTOUS Premiere / Club Late Music - GUN]

Intimate Publics, Osheyack’s second album, is an homage to Shanghai, the city he has called home since 2012. Over the past ten years the producer has evolved from an avid club-goer to a key member of the vital soundscape that emerged from ALL Club and its predecessor, the now defunct club The Shelter. As hinted by the title, which draws on American social theorist Michael Warner’s work on publics and counterpublics, the album expresses a commitment to mining the utopian potential of club music, forging new worlds and generating future social relations, just as the artist bids farewell to the city at a moment of uncertain transition. While tracks like 'Edging' and 'Thrall' continue to present his signature collage of harder club music, the rest of the record reveals a shift to synthetic approximations of acoustic instruments. 'Still', the central track of the album, is a piece composed almost entirely of samples found on Vocaloid (a vocal synthesizer developed by Yamaha, commonly used to give voice to Japanese virtual idols). While echoing themes explored in previous projects, like the nature of realism and authenticity in a techno-mediated landscape, Intimate Publics is charged with an unexpected emotional candor and vulnerability, unveiling a personal side Osheyack is only beginning to explore.

Marking the 100th record of the imprint’s prolific history, Infinite Machine are proud to present the release of Quartz Silica EP by new-comer Design Default. A self-described ‘tone scientist’, the Parisian delivers a 5-track of uniquely textural compositions which map out a sonic world influenced by dystopian anime titles like Trigun & Neon Genesis Evangelion. Like many on the IM discography, Quartz Silica acts almost like a simulation or audio-film representation of an abstract space you’re invited to traverse.

The EP opens with ‘Between Wasteland and Sky’; percussive assault on your senses which clearly exemplifies Design Default’s meticulous approach to sound design. Every detail, every sample and every automation is carefully considered to add to the heightened affective theatrics heard here.

‘A.S.K’ follows things up on this release, a highly inventive composition with a loose structure that evolves from phrase-to-phrase, refusing to sit still. Design Default’s interest in jazz and free-form arrangements is married up with an angular sonic palette of industrial groans and splutters; generating the impression of hearing a glitch (or hiccup, even) in the machine. There’s something refreshingly playful about the maximalistic breakdown of ‘A.S.K’ akin to the wry smile found in some of AYA and her YCO label’s output.

After two highly frenetic tracks, Design Default turns the tempo down slightly with the groove-laden ‘S.E.E.D.S’. Layers of rich, fuzzy synapses phase in and out of prominence over a bed of complex drum programming. The producer deploys negative space here to great effect, with the absence of a drum hit or sample where you might expect one adding to the hypnotic rhythmic swing of ‘S.E.E.D.S’.

Rounding out the originals of Quartz Silica EP, ‘SILEX’ is a club-ready construction with a paint-shaking bassline which seems to slip downwards in pitch as if it can’t get steady footing. Again, Design Default’s tone science/alchemy shines through clearly here, with stutters of melodies, bursts of white noise and stacked drum patterns managing to sit cohesively in this dynamic expanse.

Fellow Parisian De Grandi jumps on remix duties for ‘S.E.E.D.S’ to finish off the EP. The Paradoxe Club signee adds further syncopation and strips the original’s elements down to its fundamental core. The results are a spectral creeper of a tune - built almost intentionally with dark, low ceiling environments in mind.

"Everything I do comes from romance, if I can't be romantic, then I won't make music anymore. "GG summarized in a post when "Punk Karaoke" was released.

Throughout the entire "動亂星 Stars of Turmoil EP", the Gabber / Hardcore influence cannot be erased, but this is already the result of GG's efforts to suppress this influence to the minimum. The sensory stimuli pursued at the DJ set were not all brought into his personal release. "動亂星 Stars of Turmoil EP" is concerned with what is happening now, not the cyberpunk ideas, the fantasy of the stars and the sea, nor is it a thing of the past.

Each track has a clear expression goal: "榮耀 Glory" uses a lofty melody to tells about GG's love for certain people and things, not only for the ambition he is putting into practice, but also for those who work as hard as he but People who have not yet made a name for themselves; "犬子來拜 Adoration of Sons" expresses his dissatisfaction with the current situation around him and unilateral provocations against some rogues in a restless voice; "動亂星 Stars of Turmoil" uses a lot of rhythmic patterns of traditional Chinese lion dance, and his emotional foundation is built on Encourage the FunctionLab team and the entire Hangzhou music scene; "香港 Sweet Harbour" focuses on the expectation of love between person to person, with the characterization of delicate melody as the lead.

"My temper is still very strong, but now I feel that fighting with music is a more effective and smarter way." GG sees this EP as a successful self-positioning rescue and a safer emotional release. If you want to make a distinction between his musical career, maybe style and technology are not the most important boundaries, and the change of mindset is the real watershed. Although in music, he has reconciled with it, but in his life, the rebellious attitude could not be changed. Don't roar lyrics is only a partial concession, and the music still carries his sharp opinions, those passionate opinions.

"Let those assholes hear the aggressiveness in my heart and the ambition of FunctionLab and I, and let those who are smug and arrogant about their small achievements hear, there must be a winner or loser one day. "In addition, more is unruly and open love. This is the fate of GG Lobster, and it's what he is. Those extravagant lyrics that don't care are now internalized in his heart, leading him and guiding him.

"I hope you can hug your companions after listening, especially those who are still with you while doing things like moth fluttering fire with you." This is the most sincere, the most meaningful suggestions from GG Lobster about this EP.

Buenos Aires-born producer Pablo Betas — known as Bungalovv — celebrates his return to the Infinite Machine family with the release of the enchanting debut album, Donde Hubo Fuego.

Proceeding his 2017 EP ‘Luz Mala‘, which was coined by THE FADER as 'an unlikely entente between the sinister and the seductive', his reappearance to the imprint is analogous to this. Currently residing in Berlin, Bungalovv is also a founding member of TRRUENO, a collective and label that was born in Buenos Aires, united by new technologies as a resource and means to expand the spectrum of aesthetic possibilities in electronic, experimental, performance and audiovisual scenes.

Pulling inspiration from a diverse appetite comprised of dembow, obscure club experiments and animalistic synthesis, Bungalovv also utilises foley recordings exceptionally across the ten tracks. Flickers of the album opener ‘Bandera Robada’, are a cautionary suggestion of what lies ahead. And with antagonistic titles like ‘Soil Taste’ shaped from stabbing timbres and unpredictable time signatures like an Omni-angular sonic attack, you get pulled into a sinful parallel universe as the LP progresses. Cries of distortion, time-stretched cinematic doom, and unquantised ASMR excerpts are glued together like a tapestry, laying among devastating blows that meteor into a landing pad of extraordinary composition.

Complimentary of his mind-bending DIY live performance, the album is beautifully balanced, humanised, mechanical and elegant. Releasing in late April, this is by far Bungalovv's most refined and developed work to date.

This compilation was made by beautiful humans from all around the world. It is a collection of 11 varied tracks. It is noisy, experimental, sometimes brutal, with choir, different languages, vocals, piano and drums... While the tracks are all different, they are united by the fight against domestic violence.

As you may know, this pandemic is a nightmare for women facing domestic and sexual abuse. In many situations they have been forced into lockdown with their abuser. 

The money raised on Bandcamp will go to La Fédération Nationale Solidarité Femmes, a French charity helping women in distress. Please consider buying this release if you appreciate it and spread the word about the current situation.
