Functory 03 is the third compilation from FunctionLab will be released on August 5, 2019.

After the practice and introspection of the “localization of the vanguard scene” in the past two years, we proudly started from Hangzhou and have extended our tentacles to a farther geographical space; Collecting music from all over the world and converging into functionlab's own "smell”, self-centred yet separated from self-expression.

His album 'śpie' is out November 10 via Gin&Platonic @ginandplatonic

Born in 1998, Warsaw-based Julian Płoski has recently been making noise among the Polish experimental scene. Despite only being 21, he can already boast about taking part in various residencies, performing dozens of gigs including one at last year’s edition of UNSOUND, or founding an ever-fluid label 𝑔𝓁𝒶𝓂𝑜𝓊𝓇. Julek’s critically acclaimed debut album "Tesco" saw him shoplifting field recordings while hunting for discount groceries, then genuinely fusing them with bare elements of contemporary club music or IDM into ominous sound collages. Gin&Platonic is now pleased to present Julek Płoski’s sophomore full lenght - śpie. 

On this yet another conceptual record he leads the listener through extensive hypnagogia occurring during onset of sleep, with all of its abrupt deflections one may eventually take while attempting to enjoy a quality rest. Constantly balancing on the edge of vague vigilance and shallow slumber, śpie teases us with stream of hypergrotesque sound scenarios often submitted by hints of deeply internal insecurities, projected through the lens of dreamstate’s very own oddity. The retained fragments of past day's experience crawl in uncontrollably and they immediately provoke wicked imagination of rather obscure situations. As the mood flows unpredictably from nightmarish periods of abrasive kick drums to sweet and serene soundscapes, on "śpie" Julek achieves to connect the wicked with the virtuous, as well as the pleasant with the destructive.

Mice is back with his first album 0.01% after contributing Light EP and participating three compilation. The vibrating sound which like a gleaming metal shows the life cycle of a parasite . 

The whole album is divided into four chapter — a metempsychosis from fear to calm. Beginning with Warm 暖胃, the host's horror was continuously pushed by the fierce shattered beat and disturbed noise, and reached its peak in Upwelling 上涌. The parasite gradually entered the host's limbic system along with the exalted melody in Corrosion 腐蚀, secreting neurotransmitters to make the host fall into a false excitement. After the drop of the last note in Permeate 渗透, the host began to struggle with his own consciousness and slowly sink into the chaotic subconscious quagmire in Filter 过滤. From Sterillize 杀菌 to Break 突破, the host kept struggling unconsciously until death. The parasite broke out in Purification 净化 and greeted its own transformation — to a higher life form in peace. EndingStarted as the end of the album is not only the end of parasitism but also the beginning of new life.

→ 'DIGITONICA : Synthetic Opera' is a one hour mix by Anna Morskaya alias DIGITONICA, a russian musician and visual artist, initially broadcasted on LYL Radio. Russia is a great country, at the crossroads between eastern and western cultures. @DIGITONICA wishes to embrace this feature through her productions and 3D art. As a musician and singer she focuses on mixing a huge and diverse music heritage with new electronics, glitching russian opera’s melodies with various modern processes. Combining those traits she alsos uses several different vocal techniques, from academic singing to whispering, sometimes sounding angelic, sometimes like some weird creature. The result is an introspective work where DIGITONICA draws up a contemporary take of her classical formation, inspired by avant garde electronics as well as 19th century romantic music.
