Uncertainty, excitement, expectations and hope define pretty well what’s behind the launchment of a space mission. Everything has been calculated,  measured and prepared, but reality is always unpredictable, so results and success are never guaranteed. Experience and intuition may help in order to reach the desired planet’s orbit. Italian artist Alessandro Russo, known as Evod (@evodmusic), has used both to deliver Sonde Spaziali EP, the new release on Exoplanets’ 30D Sub label, a tribute to four different spatial projects that have taken place in the last decades from different parts of the world. 

Techno has been, almost since its inception, an excellent soundtrack for spatial exploration, as experimenting and having no boundaries in creation are key to start the trip. In Sonde Spaziali, Evod, fully aware of techno’s potential, recreates all the complex emotions kept into the challenge  of  reaching  space,  being able to bring us back to Earth to share and spread the discoveries, fully dance floor compatible. We're in Dublin for the Local Selection, as one of the countries fastest rising techno producers, Billy Spike Iland provides us with the latest mix. We've been huge fans of his tunes for quite a while so we're delighted to feature a mix from him.

Pre-lockdown Billy was organising stand out club shows in Dublin’s vibrant scene, bringing over the likes of Mortiz Von Oswald, CEM, Mama Snake and DMX Krew to the capital. 

Previous gigs include support for Mortiz Von Osawald, DMX Krew, Ryan Elliot, CEM and Mama Snake. As well as making his international debut at Jaded London & Festival Forte in Portugal, alongside artists such as Oscar Mulero, Paula Temple, Boston 168, Jonas Kopp and Dave Clarke.

With no clubs and festivals for the last year, Billy has used the time wisely focusing on the studio, with numerous releases under his belt in the last year alone on the likes of Alien Sound Trax, Sulino Records & Expel your demons Records and most recent, Waterford's Kriminal Records. 

Expect an hour of hypnotic, driving techno that we've become accustomed to with his releases and style. This is your Wednesday soundtrack.

Exos - Eleventh  -(Re-Edition April 2, 2021).

It‘s been 21 years since Eleventh, the debut album of Exos was released. After a handful of successful 12“ releases on Thule Records & Plast Trax, his delicate workmanship was noticed by the legendary German techno outfit Force Inc in the late year 1999. Few months of hard studio worked ensued and the debut album was ready. Things moved fast with the new label – and relatively soon after it was out and about. It was well-received by both critics and DJs – praised for its diverse spectrum of the techno genre, such as dense, hypnotic, atmospheric, and dancefloor-oriented tracks. The success of the release paved the way for further endeavors.
For a long time, the release became hard-to-find and been completely unavailable on digital platforms. Now it‘s time to make amends the release has been re-mastered by Tadeo from Jahvastudios – and is available starting today at Bandcamp and shortly after to all major streaming platforms

Originally from Lille, Max is a young music enthusiast focusing on energetic, jacking and mental techno. His love for electronic music took another dimension after moving to Berlin in 2017, where he started collecting records from artists like Steve Stoll, Stef Mendesidis, The Advent, and many more. Usually fast, his sets are all about blending the old school and the new school: “bringing together the nostalgia of the 90’ with the freshness of today’s sound is my objective”.
