The DeepAssassin duo is made up of:

Afrosoul (DJ/songwriter/producer) and
Perc (DJ/producer).

Based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Explicit earned his stars and stripes as an emcee the good old fashioned way, by taking part in freestyle battles, which earned him the reputation of being one of the best freestyle emcees in the country. Having won 48 out of the 50 battles he competed in, winning titles such as the “Hype Unsigned Showcase” , and the “War with Words Battle 2” along the way .

In April 2008, DJ Fresh commissioned Explicit to start the ‘Weekly News Rap Up', which airs every Friday, repeatedly between 3 and 7pm on the 5fm Fresh Drive . The segment presented the opportunity for Explicit to flex his rhyming skills on a platform that broadcasts to over 1.5 million listeners, and has already proven to be a huge success.

Late in 2007, he released his first solo project an EP titled “My Story Page One”. The EP received an overwhelming response from fans and industry peers alike. In addition to being a significant milestone in his career, the release of his EP has set the platform for his upcoming album presently in early stages of production, with release planned for later this year. The EP featured guest appearances by top SA artists such as Reason, Proverb, Spaceman, Cash, Koli and Prototype .

Certain tracks off the EP have already received a considerable amount of airplay on local radio stations, with Beautiful Music debuting high up on T-Bo Touch's hip-hop top ten, and remaining on the charts for several weeks already.

Explicit has stayed at the forefront of the hip-hop scene since 2005, appearing in Hype Magazine countless times, as well as having tracks included in their compilation CDs. He's been featured in a double page spread in XL magazine, radio jingles for 5fm and Rhodes Fm, as well as being one of the headline performers in the 8 show “Kick in the Door” campus tour. He's featured on several compilations, mixtapes and guest appearances on other artists albums, such as Landmynz, Beats Against the Beast With a number of exciting projects in the pipelines, you'll be sure to be hearing a lot more from this rising star in the coming months.

DJ-Carbon (Lawrence Mogwase) was born and raised in one of the world’s historical motswako music place in the 1990s, Mafikeng, real name “Thato Lawrence Mogwase”. An upcoming South African deejay that stayed true to his passion for diverse house music. He is an underground and down to earth house music producer that delivers great tunes in the house music scene for the distinctive qualities in his exceptional productions and DJ-sets. Harmony, Soul & Groove music is what favours him and puts his fans first on his list. DJ-Carbon Lawren passion of music started in 2005 and worked with many local Dj’s both hip hop & house music producers but Carbon not only convinces as a producer – his mixtapes helped him build up his reputation as an upfront tastemaker. During 2009 he started paying more attention to pure production like never before and started developing skills ever since until today.

BIOGRAPHY

Julio Khoza from the streets of the East Rand Side , Daveyton (eVutta) Daveyton, genuine Dj and possibly your future favorite as he would describe himself. Born 15 March 1988 raised by he’s parents Emily and Lucas which are he’s greatest inspiration.

Studied at Inkatha Ka Zulu Primary School matriculated at Lesiba Secondary School then went to study Journalism and Media Studies at Demelin Benoni city campus 
I grew up in a musical environment cause my father used to collect cassettes and records, he loved reggae and Rnb. Got exposed to house music when I was still in primary school.

I had a friend by the name of Jabulani Mashigo now goes by the name of Jabu Ndlovu, Jabu was a very spoiled boy and he’s parents used to by him Dj Fresh`s compilations so he used to borrow me I remember very well it was 2002 when Dj fresh released FRESH HOUSE FLAVA 5.

My love for House music grew very Fast as I started listening to radio stations that where familiar and that played a lot of house music stations like Yfm 99.2 when legends like the late Fana Khaba (Khabzela) where still hot on radio and they used to release CLUB Y SESSIONS presented by Dj Fresh and mixed by the late Dj Monde.

I had two friends who listened to the same music around my hood so we used to share music, talk about music and think of what we can do to influence everyone to hear what we always talk about cause they used to think we are some crazy dudes who have no hope. Then in 2008 we decided to form a group “The Funk Masters” it was me Julius Khoza aka Gman aka Lord G'mza, Mpendulo Gumede (Pezo) and Piet Thipe (Dj Formal), we started as resident Dj’s at a Tarven “Ebhandeni” doing Sunday sessions which gave us no hope but we kept holding on till we bought our own sound system in 2010 then went to become resident Dj’s at Zake’s place.

In 2012 I decided to start doing mixtapes “Local Connection” which became a great success and a good exposure for me because I started gaining recognition and started getting bookings and friends from around the world.
