We wanted this track by The Phunk Junkies to appear on Vol.03 so badly that we broke into their home and over a period of weeks, made ourselves indispensable to them. We'd crouch in their shower to pass them gels and lotions; we'd sit on top of their toilet to pass them pieces of toilet paper as and when needed; we'd smooth their hair and 'shhh' them whilst they slept..the final straw came when we got caught foraging through their underwear drawers like pigs snuffling for truffles. That's how hard we work at Scour Records to bring you the finest tracks from the universe's most incredible producers! …not that we're allowed to go any nearer than 100 meters to them ever again.

It's probably not rock and roll to admit that the idea for this collaboration grew from a fancy dress murder mystery night, so we absolutely won't mention that in any way at all. Better to say the HKPP crew were all on heroin back in the twenties, before being attacked from the future by John Connor-style Warp9 terminators (..who won easily because Hong Kong Ping Pong are lovers not fighters). Once in the future Warp9 got to work on the track with chainsaws, crocodiles, tesla coils, nipple clamps and cattle prods before snapping out the tablecloth and 'voila-ing' this swinging slab of dynamite!

Live and studio project created in September 2009 by musicians Nicolò Tucci and Sabrina Ferro from Bologna (ITA), Dub Engine is part of the last generation of dub producers who know how to feed their work with various music genres.
 
While keeping the uniqueness of reggae/dub music unimpaired, they tinge their sound according to the contemporary punk and dubstep movement which surrounds them.
 
With a great complicity, the couple develops a powerful music, supported by winds, strings and percussions leaning on a massive sub bass, kick drum and wobbles synths.
 
Deeply influenced by UK & French new millenium dub era (Iration Steppas, Bush Chemists, Kanka, Dub Machinist, Dubkasm, Skream) they started to evolve their live show towards a new “psycho-dubstep” way, merging the hypnotic energy of dub music with militant-warrior style typical of dubstep music.
 
Revealed in 2010 with a 8-track release under free Creative Commons licence on “Irie On Air” net-label , they appeared on several european compilations before signing “Rude Boy” in 2011 on Dubatriation Records, their first 7" vinyl release.
