Venturing beyond musical genres and disregarding arbitrary hierarchies, Igor Vicente, a versatile Belgian artist, has dedicated his illustrious career to the relentless pursuit of one thing: the music.

Whether as part of the esteemed duo Ultrasone or flying solo, Igor has graced renowned labels such as Visionquest, Mobilee, Get Physical, and the iconic Hot Creations, curated by Jamie Jones. In 2005, he initiated the WILDFAMILY parties at Decadance in Gent, evolving into one of Belgium's most influential house music events. His journey continued with the establishment of his residency and label, STATE OF FLOW, at the infamous Fuse club in 2013.

Over the years, the parties have hosted names like Jamie Jones, Sammy Dee, Matt John, Perlon night, Dinky, Guy Gerber, Amelie Lens, Tobi Neumann, Clive Henry, Seth Troxler, and Shaun Reeves, among others. With legends like Marco Carola and Jamie himself playing out Igor's new and old tracks, Igor's productions prove to be timeless.

Igor's musical palette spans from glorious house anthems to steady techno outbursts, from stripped-back minimalist rhythms to funky disco jams. Embracing the flow, he combines his impeccable mixing skills, diverse selection, and unique charisma to captivate audiences worldwide. His journey has taken him to some of the most significant electronic hubs, including DC10 and Space Ibiza, Fuse Brussels, Output NYC, Fabric in London, Berlin's renowned Watergate, and Italy's house & techno sanctuary Cocorico.

 ́Meadows ́ is Sommerfeldt and Sigmund Floyds second collaboration on  ́Badabing Diskos ́, a hypnotizing house track that, allthough inspired by closeness to nature, securely fronts their right of disposal in urban territory.

Sommerfeldt has long been a solid player within the Oslo underground circuit. He previously released as  ́Sommerstad ́ and  ́De Fantastiske To ́ on acclaimed labels such as Paper Recordings and Full Pupp and has remixed everyone from Way Out West to late legend Amp Fiddler.

The recognizable vocals of Sigmund Floyd comes from his many album releases with legendary dub disco orchestra  ́Palace of Pleasure ́ and his more recent housepop band Legz11.

Sommerfeldt´s second solo EP on badabing still has the minimalistic deep house feel, but with a heavier and more bouncy groove that will shake up any club. A deep rumbling house cut with uplifting repetative synth chords, underlaying soft basslines and most convincing vocal hooks.

`Maedows ́ was written during the last days of summer, surrounded by breathtaking scenery in the Norwegian highlands. «Life can sometimes push you off edge and inside the triangle of fear, love and hate. This track is running away from it all and into the Meadows as fast as your legs can carry you. Because occationally, the grass is actually greener.»

 ́Meadows ́ is the perfect reminder that summer is getting closer.

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning.
