Funkermonk. - Breath Of Spring [Free Download]

Fertil Discos is pleased to announce its first free digital release, called 'Costa', by @sleepingnacho. 

'Costa' is positioned among cumbia, minimalist hip hop, and exquisite reggaeton and it's inspired on a Paraná River's Delta trip, when the sun goes down: a water stream full of past, present and future images dazzles the night. 
A synthetic 5-track EP, half dark, half light. Among the casuarina leaves, the whispered voices of urban hip hop warrior Sara Hebe, the poems of Hugo Mugica and Cecilia Pavón, the trip itself turns onto a lisergic experience yet highbrow, which gets to its climax with 'Breslau', containing the sweet and smokey strings played by Jhon William Castaño Montoya.

-The text is a love story. A man loved a woman, or a woman loved a man. Their house was one opposite the other. - The rest is mystery. The beloved has probably disappeared, so the lover sings the loss of his beloved. Or is it the other way, because no one knows if it is a man or a woman ... And the sun rose on the mountain, like a knell ringing, resounding in the sky. This story so transparent in its simplicity, if crystalline, was collected by a Reverend - the Komitas father; Armenian musician, musicologist and anthropologist, who is in Armenia, a few years later, in his vast and patient work of musicological collection of popular music of his country.

Kalokairi takes you into a journey of the three phases of love based on Greek literature and philosophy. 
The first phase, Eros, describes the initial passion and physical attraction between two individuals. It is the first impression of either a relationship, or in this case, a musical art form. 
The second phase, Philia, talks about conditional love, the aspect of a relationship in which one's attraction is dependent on receiving something from the other person involved in it. This mid phase offers the listener something more than just an initial attraction; it engages and creates a compromise that will lead you into the third and final phase of love; Agape. Ultimately, Agape is the phase we all long for, unconditional love. This is the phase that best describes what an artist expects from an audience. It is not the superficial emotions that could come along with electronic music in some cases, but the unconditional passion for rhythm and melody that fuels an artist's mind into creating the next experience for his or her audience.
