The temperature was ferociously hot in the dark basement. Outside the sun was at its highest peak and the concrete was smouldering under the blistering rays. Underground, it was much the same bar the lack of light. This was by choice and not an accident. Nobody liked to dance in the eye of others judgement, hence the shadows were best for such fun. As the room begin to fill it was remarkable to watch the people shed their clothes, layer by layer they became more free. The sweat dripped from above. 

Daniel T steps up with two tracks for the fun loving Cosmic Pint Glass label. He is accompanied by Lauer and Jack Pattern who offer a set of spectacular alternatives to his own arrangements

Man Power, a descriptor of the brute force either available or supplied by humans, and also a producer-come- DJ who regularly fluxes between a whole genre range of electronica links up with Omena for remix duties of Thrilogy’s Evanescence. 

His remix is an interstellar force to behold. The title could suggest something ethereal and likely to dissipate, when actually quite the opposite occurs. Such is the way when traversing the unknown and unexplored. Neither man nor probe has reached the outer limits of this hinterland but we are assured everything is under control. The hold me tonight crescendos, flushing keys and delicate vocals have been independently certified and will perform, even under duress. We can make it past the singularity if we all continue listening.

London based @Hyasynthe pulls up slowly building delight, Aurora. Particles shuttle around in the upper atmosphere, causing reddish and green hues to dance, all as that same sample loops over and over, building, waxing and waning. How can the producers use of Ableton 10, 808’s and your own heartstring have such an effect on the magnetic pole of the earth? we're completely unsure. 

We never thought something with so emotionally driven, and many hued could be birthed from someone hailing from Milton Keynes; what some call the Jewel of the Buckinghamshire heartland, but most consider the complete antithesis. Opposites attract, we suppose but this sonic sonnet is one to be saved, that’s for sure.

The Portuguese say that ‘saudade’, the emotional state of nostalgia and the emotional thrills it can trigger, is an extremely powerful thing. It’s certainly hit Tom Trago hard in recent times, with the Dutch producer naming his new self- released single – his first since 2017 – after this distinctively warm and fuzzy heightened emotional state.

Trago’s nostalgia pangs were a direct response to his new life on the Netherlands’ North Sea-facing West Coast, a move that provided the musical inspiration for his 2018 album “Bergen”. While happy in his new home studio, Trago found his mind wandering back to countless happy days and nights spent jamming with friends and contemporaries in his basement studio beneath Volkshotel in Amsterdam.

“Saudade”, Trago’s latest single, was made during one of those all-night Amsterdam studio sessions alongside JP Enfant, a DJ/producer best known for his residency at De School and releases on his LET Recordings. The A- side “Main Mix” fizzes with excitement and the possibilities of the night ahead. Sentimental, emotion-stirring chords, lilting lead lines, chiming melodies and ecstatic electronics rise above a chunky, hot-stepping drum machine rhythm. It’s nostalgic but immediate: a musical marriage of two giddy producers living for the moment.

On the flip you’ll find the “Ambient Mix” set to soundtrack slow-burn sunrises the world over. All immersive synthesizer chords, yearning musical motifs and seductive melodies, it sees Trago delivering a suitably tactile and loved-up soundtrack with which to usher in the dawn of a new day.

To those familiar with the South American scene, the name of @juliovictoria will undoubtedly ring a bell. Having plied his trade modernising traditional Colombian music with his live ensemble for nearly a decade, Julio's eventually making his solo debut on London's certified vibes merchants @churchuk with the superb 'Astrolabe'.
