She was the quintessential Disco Diva. She had Izora Armstead and Martha Wash (AKA Two Tons Of Fun, Sylvester's backing vocalists) left and right of a podium of which she  held the number one spot.

a very important mix from my archives for several reasons:

#1 - I completed this and released it the night after he passed away in 2009, while still numbed from the news

#2 - before the weekend was over, this podcast was posted and listened to in over 20 countries.  It eventually ranked in the top 300 podcasts in the world.

#3 - this was maybe only my 3rd or 4th official mix after converting to Serato and being retired from DJing for nearly 5 years.

That being said, I wanted to re-upload this so it can continue to live forever.

Not only a worldwide renowned DJ/Producer, as a vocalist, John has collaborated and written electrifying songs for the likes of Hybrid, Planet Funk and also Darren Emerson’s The Low Highs. His new rock/electronic album "Cold Sun" has also just been released. 

If you haven’t discovered the beautiful, chilled “Takin’ Over – Reprise” on the 8am disc of the new John Digweed’s “Underground Sound of Ibiza Series 2” (Bedrock) album, it also comes highly recommended.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, GET READY FOR 1HR AND 50 MINUTES of some 80's and 90's house music - with some retro and electro in between.  This was done on the 1st try, by grouping similar BPM's starting at 115 and rising to almost 138BPM at one point, so bear with the technical OOP'S here and there.  This is just a mere taste of what JC are capable of when providing a DJ service.

C-MACH'S 80'S & 90'S OLD SCHOOL MIX

80s R@B Mixes.

This is my 6th CHIC Organization remix that will be available as a bonus (digital & vinyl) to the upcoming 4 x CD boxset. The original version was part of french iconic pop singer Sheila's King Of The World album that CHIC produced in 1980. It was the follow up to the cult Spacer single. When the original analog tapes were transferred extra unused takes were found. The CHIC band were rehearsing the song and in the process recorded alternate guitar and piano parts that due to the then available technology couldn't be used in the original final mix. Current tools allowed me to sync the unused parts with the rest of the used takes. My remix is quite a "bourgie bourgie" like version in the spirit of the CHIC classic instrumental workouts like Sao Paulo or Savoir Faire.
