There are three well known versions of this track. the original by Cameo, the early 90's hit by Gun and also one by Korn. 

I attributed this to Gun, being the first version that I heard, even though Cameo's original had been released some time before.

Pretty much a one-hit wonder although 2 or 3 incarnations of "The Rubettes" seemed to have survived for decades after, proving that it only takes one global hit to make a living but maybe three high quailty albums to last as superstars . . . which these dudes didn't quite make.

Although the lyrics of this song are somewhat dubious, it is one of the most soulful songs ever produced. It was # 1 in 1972 and written by Gamble and Huff who were on a roll with the Philadelphia sound.

Paul was older than many first time #1 artists having been conscripted into the army in the same regiment as Elvis Presley.

Hi all, so from 2016 to 2024 I assembled and produced a large collection of covers of many of my favorite tunes as my own hobby (and many during COVID lock-downs!) and I have accumulated over 2,800,000 plays across the world which is awesome!

I am much more of a producer that a musician. These first 8 years of my music was mostly based on midi cover tracks often downloaded from the Internet but heavily reproduced and re-imagined variously on my two Yamaha keyboards (Clavinova and PSR 975), but also using PC midi editing & DAW software.

Towards the end of that period, I added some of my more original electronic music which I produced over the past two decades under the name of Funkleberry in order to consolidate my Soundcloud accounts. 

But in 2024 I got into AI music generation and I am now  a freelance sonwriter and AI music producer. It's been a fun journey!
