Here's the new single "Real Hip Hop" off the upcoming Awon & Dephlow collaborative LP, "Dephacation", produced by Phoniks. The album will be our first release together since 2013's critically acclaimed "Return to the Golden Era". It will drop digitally through Bandcamp on May 6th with the vinyl coming by Sergent Records shortly after. This song embodies the sound of Dephacation, which will forever serve as an example of how to sh!t on rappers who lack the skill to compete.

The Story:
"One of my favorite songs off of the Moe Pope & Rain album 'Life After God'. I remember the day after I made that beat, I was walking home. I lived in JP at the time and so did Moe. He happened to be driving by and I had the beat on my iPod. He heard it, wrote something and we recorded it the next day. EDO seemed like a perfect fit and I was doing a lot of recording with him at the time. We also wanted to get our homie Maestro1ton from Agari Crew on it as well. Turned out to be a phenomenal joint."

Another track written several years ago on EnergyXT2 that I revisited in Live. I spent a lot of time on this track struggling to mix it, and it taught me a lot about my craft. I love the intro and the wide drum sections as well as the slowly evolving pads. This was the first track that I started to bring in dub influences.
