Modern Controls is the first solo LP from Dubringer. This 12-track offering covers a lot of ground while staying in the deeper realm, from the crackling, Burial-esque collaboration with Beolost, “Voidrift,” to the R&B-tinged “Song For Her.” You’ll find his main influences pulled from classic Neurofunk and Dungeon Dubstep, remolded into modern deep Garage. The use of complex, modulated growls and mids paired with stunning atmospheres, textures, and vocals will keep the listener intrigued, while the skippy Garage and two-step-style beats will keep their feet moving. Prepare for a journey through several flavors of Garage that manage to keep things deep yet boldly engaging.

In the modern world of electronic music, running a label is no easy undertaking. The task requires a specific type of flexibility and finesse to maneuver through rapidly evolving landscapes, and because of this, often labels fall off as quickly as they begin. After five years steering the movement of multi-genre bass music, Gravitas Recordings has proven itself an anchor in the industry, even if success is not always measured in play counts or festival billing positions. 

As a label and artist collective, Gravitas has helped cultivate uncounted experiences for passionate music lovers across the world, and as a celebration of five years in this labor of love, the crew has released a compilation to honor a truly noteworthy milestone. The 34 track collection spans only a tiny corner of the label’s massive 100 album catalog, but still offers a healthy slice of the varied styles and artists that have collaborated with Gravitas over the years. New challenges will undoubted await the team in the years to come, but if the past is any indication, Gravitas Recordings will meet every obstacle with creativity and dedication for the foreseeable future.

It’s not dubstep, it’s not glitch and it’s not straight up hip hop, per-say.  
I guess I would call it, Psychedelic Bass Music.  This is how I hear it with a blend of bass heavy 808’s and hyphy rock. 

Explosive 2012 Mixtape is a mish mosh of many, many samples and original sounds layered through the mix.  It’s old, it’s present and it’s the future.  I actually just threw in a live section from NYE that went off….

There are a few brand new tracks in there that my music producer friend, Neal Stewart and I are working on under our new name, Laura Low and Lemurr.  They are not totally mastered but I had to throw them in anyway for you.  They will be out on SoundCloud soon once finished!  Look for: Birds Flying High, Real Life, Black  and my remix of Subvet’s Zombie remix…
