For this episode I focussed purely on stuff I’ve bought or been given in the last couple of weeks… i dunno, maybe I was feeling too lazy to switch to a different folder or something. Anyway, that’s not to say it was all brand new music, there were a couple of oldies in amongst the promos and various new and new-ish gems that have recently been added to my collection. 

For hour 2 I handed over the controls to JayLee, a DJ, radio host and all round lovely guy who I had the pleasure of finally meeting a few months back. Jay has kindly played my stuff a few times on his shows, and he even squeezed one of my tracks into his guest mix alongside some choice, classy disco cuts. Funkier Radio Episode 90 - JayLee Guest Mix

This week's show was a Sunshine Special, with the most uplifting tracks to tempt out the sun during a rainy week in the UK. My special guest was Ewan Mack, a talented DJ who caught my ear when I heard him as a guest on other radio shows. I'm delighted for Ewan to bring his uplifting vibe to the show

** EWAN MACK BIO **
Hailing from Aberdeen but now living in Edinburgh, Ewan's love of music started from an early age when he started to listen to soul, funk and disco. In 1993, Ewan started listening to Pete Tong's Essential Selection and Essential Mix shows and his love of house music started.

A pair of belt drive turntables and basic mixer were purchased shortly afterwards and Ewan started DJing at house parties while at University. The belt drives were soon upgraded to 1210s which he still uses to this day.

Almost 30 years on Ewan still likes to collect a broad range of disco and soulful house-music although the tempo has moderated over the years. He makes regular recordings to share with like-minded music fans and has featured on the Even Funkier radio show and the Disco Waltons show on NDC Radio.

He references Graeme Park, MAW, Dave Lee, Norman Jay, Dimitri from Paris and Frankie Knuckles as major influencers.
