Cosmic Awakenings is an organic house label run by Lemurian which fuses enchanting melodies and tribal rhythms to create captivating grooves.

Along with original music from Turu Anasi, this new release also includes stunning remixes by Madmotormiquel, plus a collaborative rework from Lemurian and Alvaro Suarez.

The label’s latest offering features two heart-warming originals by Ukrainian artist Turu Anasi, who fuses low slung vocals with mesmerising synth lines and psychedelic atmosphere. He is an artist who's featured regularly on Cosmic Awakenings along with music signed to other imprints ranging from 3000 Grad to Copycow.

German-based Madmotormiquel creates a trippy remix that has a funk inspired bassline that helps transform the track. An accomplished producer, he has also contributed tracks and remixes to other imprints including Katermukke, Bar 25 Music, Sol Selectas and Einmusika.

Lemurian is a Peruvian artist currently living in Tulum, Mexico. A talented DJ and producer, his music is inspired by the spiritual energy of his life experiences. His music often has a shamanistic vibe, and he has featured on other labels ranging from Kindisch to Sol Selectas.

Alvaro Suarez has joined forces with Lemurian to deliver a collaborative remix, but he is also an accomplished solo producer known for his many releases. Originally from Spain but currently living in Copenhagen, Alvaro Suarez has released tracks and remixes on labels such as Do Not Sit, Magician On Duty, LNDKHN and Camel Riders.

After a long and gruelling flight over the rough Java Sea, Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the 10 year-old witch apprentice) finally saw land in the distance. They immediately knew this must be Java, the mysterious island of which they have heard so many tales from Lalita (the Asian tree nymph who arrived 3 years ago in the witch’s forest to fulfil her lifelong mission as protectress of the future mother tree).
After reaching the shore, the girls quickly discovered that Lalita’s stories weren’t exaggerated … Java is a true Garden of Eden with majestic banyan trees, lush green rice fields and brightly colored hibiscus flowers. The witches picked some mangos from a huge tree, and ate these tasty fruits for the very first time. They also ate some fresh rambutans and mangosteens, straight from the tree. Lalita was absolutely right … these are definitely the most delicious fruits in the world.
After this welcome break, Hekske and Falke took off again. They didn’t know where they were heading to, but they knew they would reach their destination by simply following their inner compass. Soon afterwards they saw the silhouette of a perfectly shaped conical volcano in the distance. This must be the Merapi, the mystic mountain which Lalita had described in so many tales. And once again Lalita hadn’t exaggerated. The Merapi was as majestic and awe-inspiring as Lalita had told. And also pretty intimidating as the active volcano was belching a plume of smoke. At the foot of the Merapi, the girls saw a little stream. They decided to take a refreshing bath before entering the realm of this holy mountain. Hekske and Falke slipped out of their immaculately white dresses and waded into the crystal-clear water at the foot of a waterfall. It was really hot and the girls were in no hurry to come out of the refreshing water … which they finally did late in the afternoon.
After their cleansing bath, the witches took off and flew higher and higher along the steep slopes of the towering volcano. They flew 7 times in clockwise direction around this holy mountain, so close they could hear it rumble from time to time.
After flying around the Merapi for the seventh time, the girls touched down at a vantage point high up on the mountain, from which they witnessed a glorious sunset. Finally, they flew back to the foot of the mountain and looked for a suitable place to spend the night. The girls stayed away from human settlements as far as possible and flew towards a dense forest, where they spotted a family of leopards. They touched down at the foot of a majestic Kemang tree. The leopards gave a fluffy welcome hug to the witches (which felt very different from a wolf hug). As it was getting dark quickly, the leopards showed the girls the way to their den, high up the Kemang tree. Both Hekske and Falke found a comfortable thick branch and got ready for the night. Unlike their home forest in Flanders, this tropical forest is full of sounds from cicada insects. These sounds had a soothing effect on the tired girls, and they quickly felt their eyelids grow heavy. In this half-conscious state, they felt how their bodies seemed to merge with the tree, even feeling the slow, soothing heartbeat of the giant tree. After that, the girls drifted away into a blissful sleep …

She stared at the vast length of the bridge, hanging in the sky like a delicate red spiderweb. “I don’t think you will be able to cross it,” she said. Dragon, too, looked at the U- shaped bridge, with its fragile ropes. “I cannot fit on it,” he said, “and I doubt it will bear my weight.” “Well,” she said, “maybe it is magic, like the thread. Try.” Dragon put one foot onto the rope bridge. But as the rope felt his mass, it groaned and the bamboo stakes began to tear out of the ground. Hurriedly, Dragon stepped off. “I think,” Dragon said slowly, “I am not destined to see the Old Man of the Moon.” Tlazohtla just wanna give good vibes to the people. This is his second offering for Shango Records. These tracks can make you dance and dream of the silver Moon. Theo Gramal and Jonajosu enjoy their time in the gardens of Eden.
