CONSTRUCT / DESTRUCT is an event series based in Riga, Latvia, focused on dark technoid music with industrial strength sonics. With inception in 2005 as side-events to STURM and re-animated in 2014 by SKD, this will be a celebratory year marking the decade(s) passed, bridges built and connections made through sound. It begins at Giri in Berlin with a special program for their 12PM-6PM Breakfast Club series, inviting friends and labels from the city for a get-together with live performances & DJ sets, presenting more of the atmospheric and deintensified side of artists involved, as well as merch from Furanum Records, metaphysik, Monolith Records, photo-verlag, STURM, Syncretism and Voidance Records.

Latvian producer, DJ and promoter, operating mainly in areas of post-industrial, technoid and experimental electronic music. A music activist for nearly 20 years, he's been hosting both concert and club-oriented events, performing and releasing music solo and in collaborations, and providing explorative DJ sets, showcasing the facets and diversities of his taste. An engine in the Latvian electronic music community and STURM label, he runs Construct / Destruct series among other events, and since 2010 hosts the radio show Absolūtais Minors on Radio NABA (Latvian Radio 6), dedicated to the history and current sounds of the Latvian electronic underground.

Domink Müller is an industrial techno artist and founder of Furanum Records. Dominik’s productions and sets gravitate toward dark and industrial techno: a form driven by pounding percussion layered with spacious soundscapes, and infused with cogent mechanical reverberations. His latest industrial ambient project is Beuthen OS and collaboration started with Rafał Fürst under the alias Uncto. A place, a history, a context: all invariably and singularly inform the perspectival engine driving Beuthen OS. Like all creative visions that compel one to self-expression, this is one that began through an industrial baptism: one of immersion in the machined and polluted landscape of mines, forges, workshops, and brutalist monuments of a bygone eras. Melting and reprocessing such narratives through an electronic foundry of his own design, Beuthen OS sees industrial ambient music, with its sheer physicality and iterative capacity to induce extremes of cerebral and corporeal experience, as a form that affords their most compelling realization.

Furan: on one hand a flammable, highly toxic organic molecule, and on the other one of the pollutive byproducts of a combustive fossil-driven industry. One such heavily industrialized region is Silesia, a place with a turbulent history and formerly one of the world's most prodigious producers of coal.

To Domink Müller, the founder of Furanum Records established in 2007, the aesthetic inspiration behind the label can thus be characterized by both the volatility of the compound and its personally relevant historical context. Such duality is reflective of the dialectical tension between many of the themes explored on the label’s output: brutality/subtlety, man/machine, order/chaos, pain/pleasure, domination/submission. Modern techno, with its inherent capacity to push the limits of human perceptual experience, is the chosen mode of expression for the juxtapositions of these thematic extremes. Through machined rhythmical precision, textural experimentation, and an overwhelming sense of scale, each featured composition on the label aims to serve as an engine of immersion in the part frenetic, part euphoric swelter of sweat, sound, strobe, fog, and flesh. Based in Berlin since 2012, Furanum Records continues to serve as a nexus for the industrial vision of like-minded artists from around the world.

I was fortunate to be around NYC for the Illbient scene in the mid 90s, and for years played dark ambient and experimental/ psychedelic sounds all over town, including Twilo, The Kitchen, and The Brooklyn Museum. I co-hosted the weekly chillout party Undercity for four years at the original Halcyon. A big part of the reason I came to Berlin was to play bigdarkcrazytrippy techno, which I flavor heavily with the ambient tools and more. I make sounds for the freaks.

Along with Dr. Walker (Air Liquide), Omsk Information, adsx, and others, I was a resident on lsb_tv, Liquid Sky Berlin's weekly chillout/experimental TV show that aired on Alex Berlin cable every Saturday from midnight to 6am, from 2013-18. Many sets from there are featured on my hearthis.at page.
