In the classic series' television show: "Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends", season 3 was a transitional stage, and the composers, Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell, were still using the old and original Jupiter synth themes from the season 1 and season 2 soundtrack for the background music and cleverly layered with the new Proteus instruments over the originals, giving them a fresh new sound from the 1990's, which were unique features of the 3rd season's soundtrack. However, this was very sparingly as the loads of purely Proteus based compositions that were made to replace to warbling sound of the Jupiter synthesizer and stayed that way until season 7.

In the season 4 episode: "Bull's Eyes", this is the last hybrid Jupiter/Proteus based theme from the season 3 soundtrack used in the classic series' television show during Mike and Junior's run. Since the season 2 or 3 mix is done, it might as well do the easy season 4 variant with the swanky Proteus trombone layered on top of Daisy's season 2 theme. This was the last Jupiter synth based theme from the season 1 or 2 soundtrack used in the television show during Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell's run. They did the majority of the hybrid themes and remixes with the Roland Jupiter synthesizer and the E-Mu Proteus orchestral sound machine during the 3rd season's run.

Arranged in Acoustica Mixcraft 7 using emulations of the instruments from the Roland Jupiter-6 Analog Synthesizer, a sampled Yamaha Grand Piano, an E-Mu Proteus/2 Orchestral Soundfont, a Linn LM-1 Drum Machine VST, and some other orchestral and percussion samples. A commission by TwywnWharf2002 who had a cool idea of layering Edward's Series 2 Theme with the Proteus 2 Instruments, similar to how some of the themes were in Series 3 before everything became purely orchestral with the exception of Daisy's Series 4 Theme.

A hybrid of both the themes used for 'Trust Thomas' and 'Edward, Trevor & the Really Useful Party'. The second variant is the more interesting of the two, there's a low string section and some woodwinds that enter the 2nd half of the theme which makes the theme sound more grand. O'Donnell did state that Edward's Theme was inspired by a classic piece and this variant really shows that in my opinion,

Thomas the Tank Engine Theme Tune (Extended Version)

Ok, time to bring the big guns out. This is based on an idea that Mike O'Donnell had when they were going to do Series 3. They were going to redo the theme song with new instrumentation, which is understandable but the original still bangs undeniably.

This is kinda inspired by Mike's new mix of the theme, Thomas' Anthem and Isaiah's fantastic rendition. I wanted to make it feel like S3 by using the xylophone on the lead and keeping the arrangement faithful to the original. The Prophet Horns come in so handy for the iconic 'Closing' section. Still kept the Jupiter for the whistle though layered with the DX7 Calliope patch for texture.
