Out of curiosity, is there a specific reason Nex has been phased out other than just general character reimagining?

In this branch, Napstablook takes on the role of Toriel. With their cousin suddenly missing and chaos ensuing across the entire Underground, the panic and fear surrounding them has become too much. Therefore, they fled to the quietest place they could find, back to the Ruins where they spent a lot of their time. They just wanted some time to be alone and collect their thoughts, and come to terms with what has occurred.
Unfortunately, Hare fell down. Napstablook decides it's their duty to help this Human to the end of the Ruins... But with every moment, they're reminded of the rumour that another Human was guilty for what transpired.

Furtherfell is an AU, split into several branches, portraying the various hypothetical neutral endings of the 'canon' Underfell. It is inspired by the concept of Aftergore, though only in concept and not in execution. In this instance, 'canon' refers to the version on Tumblr, created by the infinitely talented Fella. Our more observant audience members may have noticed that the human before you is not Nex.
This track is not only a remake of a song that I think needed it, but also the introduction of our new protagonist.
Introducing Hare! The human who stumbled down a mountain 6 years after Frisk did.
This little skrunkly replaces Nex, who is being retired. They'll gradually be edited out of older track descriptions and thumbnails, though that'll take time.

So, what is FURTHERFELL?

It says here FURTHERFELL is a SERIES of AUs, what are its variations?

FURTHERFELL has several variations to represent the different neutral outcomes which UNDERTALE (and therefore UNDERFELL) can have. We do not have all of the hypothetical variations possible out as branches, since that would take too much work, so we only have Incomplete Pacifist (Rethroned) King Mettaton (Drama! Romance! Bloodshed!), King Papyrus (Vive La Révolution), and.. That one doesn't exist. Also there's a self insert.

How do neutral endings work? Are you using the Trust, Betrayal, and Closure system? 
FURTHERFELL does follow the Canonfell system of neutral endings, which is explained here.

Frisk's actions did follow the Trust, Closure and Betrayal system. But with a twist we won't reveal yet.
