Does this Spamton have a SOUL? He seems to be a genuine artificial intelligence, rather than a ghost possessing a mechanical body like Mettaton, so there isn't really anywhere he could get one from.

Furtherfell is an AU, split into several branches, portraying the various hypothetical neutral endings of the 'canon' Underfell. In this branch, Spamton takes the role of Mettaton. Papyrus knew that a new entertainer needed to be built and, with his creativity too focused on building traps for a Human who had yet to even enter the Underground, he decided that another robot would be the right option to fill that void.
However, this is Papyrus. Robotism has never been his strong suit.
And so, the mess that is Spamton G. Spamton was the result. A popular spectacle, for sure, and certainly a big shot. However, nobody will ever make a deal with him so, even now, he feels unfulfilled; he's a salesman, he's not in it for the money. And even now that his wildest dreams have come true, he isn't happy with the hand he's been dealt.

EARTHSECRET is yet another interpretation of a classic ol' Undertale AU: "Underswap" (alternatively, Moon creates another freaking underswap take). However, this take derives from a Deltarune AU called "DELTASWAP". Moreover, EARTHSECRET is an anagram of "AETHERCREST". This AU unremittingly utilizes more unique swap choices than the traditional ones, for instance: the Holidays swap with the Dreemurrs, the ghosts swap with the skeletons, angel swaps with knight, barrier swaps with fountain, etc...

Papyrus swaps with Mettaton. Much like sans swapping with Napstablook, the reason for this swap is because: both has some similarities in so many aspects, both are part of the undead race, and it's generally in line with the family swap concept. Not to mention, it consistently keeps sans' relationship/friendship with Alphys and Napstablook's with Undyne, pretty loosely too. In this AU, Papyrus finally earns what he deserves: recognition, popularity, prestige, greatness, and an infinite amount of trousling bones to throw at you. In Bloodshed Route, he suits up as giant and intimidating robotic version of himself, however the robot wavers powerlessly, allowing you to insta-kill him. How absolutely ironic.

It says here FURTHERFELL is a SERIES of AUs, what are its variations?

FURTHERFELL has several variations to represent the different neutral outcomes which UNDERTALE (and therefore UNDERFELL) can have. We do not have all of the hypothetical variations possible out as branches, since that would take too much work, so we only have Incomplete Pacifist (Rethroned) King Mettaton (Drama! Romance! Bloodshed!), King Papyrus (Vive La Révolution), and.. That one doesn't exist. Also there's a self insert.

How do neutral endings work? Are you using the Trust, Betrayal, and Closure system? 
FURTHERFELL does follow the Canonfell system of neutral endings, which is explained here.
