SCB - Fish Tubes

For the fourth and final installment of SCB remix EPs from Hotflush, Mor Elian and Hammer step up for their own interpretations of tracks from Caibu. Fish Tubes is out 21st September. 

Fever AM label co-founder and hybrid club producer Mor Elian provides a spaced out take on ‘Fishbowl’ full of angular drums and woozy synths. For his take on ‘Test Tubes’, Hammer formulates a steady groover for the after hours. 

A new track from SCB, ‘Turquoise Shade’ is a melancholic dose of warm harmonies and stripped back drums, followed by the subdued wanderings of ‘Fishbowl’, which previously appeared on this year’s ‘Engineered Morality’ EP.

New Fabric resident Anna Wall and production partner Corbi, head of Fina Records, rummage through dusty ’90s nostalgia for their ‘DATs in the Attic’ EP, twisting UK hardcore heritage through the prism of contemporary house and breakbeat. The record as a whole is worth checking out, including the fantastic remix by Escape Earth in which we wheeled out in the second hour of our October Balamii show.

We premiere, ‘DAT 1’ which flaunts it's classic drum break of grooves amid its dry ice shrouded swirl of synth lines, with vocal exaltations, exhalations and exclamations appearing and disappearing into the foggy, sweaty haze.

Scuba collaborates with Hotflush regular Lawrence Hart for two takes on ‘Out Of Orbit’. The first, a ‘four2thefloor mix’, takes the ecstatic stabs of the original to a darker place, whilst we're premiering the second, which adds an extra dose of broken beats to the first version for good measure.
