Sympathies is Furtive’s eclectic series of self-published original albums, showcasing an extensive multi-genre catalog of colorful and exploratory production and deft dancefloor sorcery. The eighth installment adds some delightful new twists and novel directions to Furtive’s expansive body of work while revisiting some familiar ground with new intentions, keener ears, and a pointedly precise approach to dancefloor dynamics - the result of measured and open-minded genre-agnostic exploration and considerably more dancefloor experience dutifully won through Furtive’s residencies at off-the-books Philly DIY venue Bounce House, their radio residency at scene mainstay Great Circles, and a string of stand-out gigs.

Sympathies’ name references a body of work made during a debauched steamy summertime studio session many years ago - once a true sentimental touchstone of identity, and now a long-surpassed, beautifully, blissfully outclassed memory, a pleasant smile in the existential rear-view, a warm breeze in the gale of history. 

Sympathies is a blur of emotions, experiences, sensations, relationships, and the psychedelic fragments between, given meaning through sound waves and motion, through riotous adventures, bright lights, and the unexpected plot twists that shape life.

Ahslyan es seudónimo tras Ahsly Mejía, una Dj de la ciudad de Pereira que en los últimos años ha estado trabajando con la escena desde distintos focos. Musicalmente se destaca por tener variedad en sus sonidos y géneros, atravesando distintas fronteras musicales sin necesidad de encasillarse. Entre los breaks, electro, techno y otros más. Sus sets se basan en la representación de algo subjetivo, personal y emocional.

LadyHunter, Dj, performer, chismosa y gestora de Medellín, lleva 5+ años en la escena club (13 como Vj). Co-fundador de House of Tupamaras y residente de MIXXXTA, prioriza lo cuir y disidente. Co-creador de "Maricone Night Diva" y "Club Enduro". Este set para Mariposa contiene un reguero de géneros que manifiestan esa diversidad de la que se habla y se politiza en los colectivos a los que pertenece.

Furtive is a full-gonzo rave conjurer and relentless creative tinkerer, intractably committed to the rave as a Philadelphia-based producer, DJ, underground event organizer, and dancer. A shifting sonic chameleon, Furtive brings a scintillating, sentimental, and psychedelic touch to their artistry, rooted in wormhole-traversing technoid propulsion and dependably delivering riotous, slack-jawed whiplash moments of the delightfully unexpected. Their many polished and focused genre-spanning productions are informed by over thirteen years of experience in the studio, yielding a rich selection of tracks across their self-released discography, vinyl pressings, and contributions to compilations. A veritable product of the contemporary American underground, Furtive cut their teeth as a DJ and DIY event organizer in Washington, DC’s warehouses, where they once played a variety of turnkey roles in putting on some of the District’s more proper techno parties. Furtive co-founded and co-runs Bounce House, an intimate, blossoming off-the-books venue in Philly where they regularly hold court as a resident. Furtive is on broadcast monthly through Ashen Vanity, a radio residency at Philadelphia’s indispensable cultural mainstay Great Circles. As a DJ, Furtive has played hallowed halls (recently rampaging at Nowadays), dingy holes, roaring renegades, broadcast booths, and festivals (The Great Beyond 2023 and 2024, Honcho Campout 2024) - always with eclectic selections and a steadfast focus on pacing and dynamics while regularly jumping genres to build moving and impactful sets, often alongside internationally celebrated, no-nonsense acts. Beyond the fog and speaker stacks, Furtive creates art in a variety of mediums. They're as unapologetic in their sincerity and flair as they are in being a die-hard True Believer in the rave.
