Stranger is our third REC’ series protagonist. Spiritual father of Rotterdam-based label Self Reflektion, he has released names like Deniro, Rove Ranger or Vil in the past recent years, making his imprint a recognized and sought-after creative platform. 

After a boiling hot night at Fuse in summer, there was no doubt that it was necessary to release this techno testimony. The Dutch’ set is beautifully hard to recap, as his performance was a real trip in a psychedelic fair. Without concession, Stranger carries you from one ride to another: embrace the neon light and feel the aerodynamics of this pure talent.

Another boiling recorded night at Fuse lands upon us once again. A worthy representative of the Copenhagen underground scene, Schacke takes us through a sound bite of the night dedicated to Fast Forward Productions. 

Armed with tireless practice, the eye for detail of the Moral Defeat label father can be heard through his two hours of music crossed with presence and confidence. With a vast gamut of inspirations, one thing is sure here: groove is king. Latent dynamism, seamless 4/4 transitions, sometimes toying with chopped vocals and deep rhythms, Schacke’s sense for music is both sweet and brainy. Until the next one, hats off to you Schacke.

Back in November 2022, Dyed Soundorom and Gene On Earth performed a stirring 3 hours long back-to-back in our Room 01. Along the way, the two protagonists deliver seamless transitions one after the other. Effortlessly.

Forging a voyage through house and beyond, the recording set is intuitively filled with flickering sounds and stripped-down grooves, as seductive as we like. Sometimes brainy yet made to make you move, it’s not your average artist combo. Nuggin’ it up!

Anthony Rother enters our REC series at Fuse. At the vanguard of the electro scene, few artists like Rother can boast a 20-plus years career in such a prolific way. And one thing's for sure, this rich heritage seeps through this two-hour hybrid mix, recorded within the hallowed walls of our beloved Room 01.

With Rother's formula, you're in for alluring, overcast electro rhythms and ethereal melodies that weave together ideally for a buzzing club night. In the hands of his creative force, the intermittent appearances of computerized's effects-laden vocal manipulations never felt so well. It's close-knit, cohesive, and yet so surprising. What more could you really ask for?

Just a month ago, Answer Code Request and Amotik washed Fuse over with a gripping 3 hours back-to-back. And among the countless ephemeral alliances that have animated our Room 01 in recent years, this pairing is hailed as one of the most harmonious and intuitive we’ve ever had.

With a constant, fluid rhythmic approach, Answer Code Request and Amotik combine the best of both worlds. Sometimes hypnotic, straightforward or uplifting, you don’t need more than a few tracks to understand that those two enjoy playing together. It’s a refreshing exploration of techno, departing from standardized formulas. And god, their palpable pleasure is simply contagious.

Once again, the Italian artist proves his grasp on deep techno. Beneath layers of crystalline groove and melodic luster, the meaningful bond forged in our Room 01 is palpable. Touched with a contemplative air, Claudio’s impeccable mixing technique comes across as an extended trip featuring an ongoing feeling of poignancy. It’s a new essential to your sound collection.

Casting our minds back to the debut of the hotshot duo of the moment, X CLUB., at Fuse. Their 4 hours high-energy set in our Room 01 stomping ground perfectly captures the Aussie pair’s enraptured spirit.

Boasting an endless selection of rolling and vibrant 90s techno-infused tracks and a perpetual groove laced with enticing vocals, we’re facing the very definition of an adrenaline rush. Loaded with peaks and climaxes and a pace that never lets up, it embodies the incandescent vibe we all enjoyed back in August.

Far from behind a closed chapter, we’re sure it won’t be their last thunderous cooperation between our walls. Bring it on!

Two Fuse residents unite. Fuse Resident DC Salas is a Belgian DJ and producer hailing from Brussels with Peruvian origins. With house, techno, wrongspeeder, disco & New Beat as his trademark. 

Sara Dziri, Fuse resident, DJ, music producer, sound designer and performer, Sara Dziri is a multi-faceted artist. Her dj sets and productions stand for surprising rhythmically complex house and techno. Hybridity and melancholy are central themes in both her music and her overall artistic work.

A look back at Philippa Pacho’s profound performance in our Room 01 at the positivesource showcase, which she co-founded hand in hand with Blue Hour. The Stockholm-born artist delivered a knife-edged vision to techno during a two-hour memorable set at her imprint night in Fuse.
 
Like a gentle hold, Philippa's narration is as tactile as poignant. Dark without being obscure, musing yet energetic, no one can doubt the decade of musicality that has flowed through her veins ever since. Drawn to sharp kicks or a few clipped vocals here and there, Philippa Pacho's mix is an invitation, or even more an exploration, to a complex and appealing inner world. A stand-out.

DJ Sweet6teen, known for her boundless sets often adorned with sweetness, is an energetic DJ with a deep passion for 90's rave music. Lea is a dedicated record digger who uncovers rare gems from the dustiest corners. With an unparalleled mastery of her craft, she bombards every dance floor with a wide range of genres: from house to trance, breakbeat to hardcore, UK Garage to the 2000s.

She does as she feels, following her instinct with a fearless disregard for genre constraints, enhancing her performances and making the experience most exciting. An element that sets her apart in the broad realm of electronic music and is hugely recognized by her fans. Have a listen.

XRDS REC 003 w/ Cinthie 

The REC series compiles outstanding performances captured at XRDS festival 2023, spotlighting artists who epitomize our affinity for electronic music. Our second recording features Cinthie, recorded live from The Outskirts on 20.08.23.

Cinthie Christl, the Berlin-based luminary, producer, DJ, owner of a renowned record store, and the driving force behind 803 Crystal Grooves. She has clocked over 25 years in the dance music industry, and ascended to become one of the most esteemed and revered figures in the electronic music scene, both within her hometown and on the global stage.

Digging into the root ethos of deep house—churchy piano runs, spiritual vocal hooks and jacking drums—got her started mixing as a teenager in the '90s. Cinthie's depth of knowledge radiantly shines through in her sets and her productions, which traverse through a broad range of classic and contemporary House and Techno sounds and that's exactly what she did on XRDS last summer. 

In essence, it must be acknowledged that Cinthie is pure dancefloor brilliance from start to finish, her diggings and her releases making perfect bedfellows.

Cinthie LIVE — Recorded live at XRDS festival 2023 (20/08/23)

The REC series curates exceptional performances from the XRDS festival 2023, shining a spotlight on artists who authentically capture our passion for electronic music. Our most recent recording features Superski's live set at The Outskirts on 19.08.23.

Voiski and Eliott Litrowski, both fixtures in the scene and acclaimed for their distinctive sounds, have collaborated under the alias Superski. They focus on consistently bright and melodic compositions, channelling the current electro trend through the lens of Italo disco.

This collaboration has given birth to the term Italo-techno—a fusion akin to pop music, blending melancholy with soaring melodies and textural dynamics in a manner often overlooked in conventional dance floor music. 

At its core, what makes Superski as a project exceptional is its ability to seize on the pop potential within the Italo-house-techno crossover and amplify it. This amplification doesn't compromise the foundation of heavy bass or powerful kicks necessary to propel the dance floor. We are honoured to have had this twofold at our festival and are excited to share the experience with you.

The REC series carefully selects outstanding performances from XRDS festival 2023. In our latest recording, we catch Kafim's opening set at The Bridge on 20.08.23. 

Kafim, a seasoned raver, is a vigilant architect of the dance floor vibe capturing every gaze. A history and experience that empowered him to fulfill his ultimate purpose – engaging all ears and rallying them towards a common objective.  

A linchpin from the Deep In House legacy since the start where Kafim shaped his particular style as varied as we know it today. Having his own evolved signature on his name characterized by utopian, imaginative and forward-think values, stands as a statement of his musical evolution. 

Privileged to host this piece of Brussels' cultural heritage at our festival and thrilled to share the experience with you.

Remembering Newa’s sensational set, back during the positive source label night in September 2023. After invading the room with an eclectic musical atmosphere, the Georgian DJ and producer left us in complete admiration. 

This is the kind of timeless set you can enjoy day or night. Heavily influenced by worldwide groove and acid aromas, she cooks in a percussive kitchen, adding a dash of ghetto techno and a swirl of broken beats. Her rich and progressive transitions keep you hooked to the kicks, feeling an overwhelming sense of mischievous satisfaction as each drop takes over. On repeat in our offices!

Listening to Ellen Allien's serenade under the balcony of trance and techno back in December in our Room 01. This set is one hour of timeless club essence with gradual build-ups to first-class drops, hard cuts, and bouncy breaks. 

The Berliner perfectly balances binary and ternary rhythms, playing on all the grounds without getting lost.

Blooming petals of funk, acid groove, and upbeat techno, this five-hours back-to-back, signed by Jennifer Cardini and Tijana T, seems like the perfect fit for the arrival of spring blossom and longer days. 

Back when they played in our Motion Room for Jennifer’s second international residency night, this match made in heaven ensured everybody had a bursting smile on their face and strong dance intentions in their feet, with a harmonization of hard funk, timeless techno, and melodic fuel. As the sun rises, this set's energy won't go down, making it ideal for our Fuse’s Soundcloud series.

The more we listen to Nosedrip’s last Room 01 adventure, the more we fall in love with it. Part of his all-nighter at Fuse and with a constant air of reflective and introspective touches, the Belgian leftfield treasure is doing justice to his reputation of never being predictable.

From vocals to etheric percussions, set-backed oddballs, or acid and Arabic sound textures, the Stroom.tv founder is drawing a resourceful example of his musical DNA. A spiritual ascension, guided by Ziggy Devriendt’s intuitions for two hours long.

Macedonia’s own Stojche is Fuse’s next guest for the club's freshly made imprint. The long standing DJ and producer has been known to keep Detroit’s playfully hybrid style as the focus of his work and ‘Metaphor’ is the case in point. His four tracks bounce through a nostalgic balance of techno, house, and more with a modern crisp. A refreshing take on club music, Stojche keeps techno’s sometimes nonchalant attitude at arms length with a charismatic record that hits its mark with every measure. 


The record’s first track ‘Counterpunch’ features heavily lined percussion but still brews up a storm far and wide with resonant dub stabs and open hi hats. The drum machine boasts a full spectrum, rolling through a light show of melodic flashes, perfect for a room compressing soundsystem. The maximalist, vintage detail that Stojche brings to his compositions blurs the lines between classic genres in a time of hasty hybridization, which gives it a sort of authenticity that can’t be taken for granted. ‘Chordal Tribe’, on the other hand, raises the general euphoria of the EP. Luring in the listener with bright pads and full-on drums, Stochje’s work is reliable main slot material that adds color to any mix while providing a persuasive low end. Shimmering hi hats give it an ethereal quality making it an appropriate interlude for almost any context. Moving on to the B side, the producer sharpens up his rhythm and emphasizes the hardgroove influence in ‘Signal Drive’. Softening the pace of his drums with free use of melodic chord stabs, Stojche opens up his dance floor for a crowd bonding record once again, complete with filter transitions and pummeling toms. As the final contribution, his title track ‘Metaphor’ begins with a more obscure opening to conclude his EP for Fuse. Leaning more to a techno cut, the record remains flamboyant as ever with open hats and rides shuffling through his arrangement. A muted main synth becomes apparent to focus the energy of the track while allowing for liveset-like drum flickering to take shape beneath, claiming the immortality of old club records with the technical precision of a seasoned modern producer.

Recorded at the end of March during the festival's annual takeover of our capital, his intricate soundscapes, gritty breaks and genre bending techniques captivated all who ventured into Room 01 that night. Resulting in a meticulously executed resume of his unique intense style and deep understanding of set dynamics through storytelling, making it a timeless entry to our podcast series.

30 years of Fuse means 30 years of road paving. 

In over a quarter century, Fuse has stood the test of time by rooting itself in ageless music and employing pioneering artists - large or small, international or local - to command the decks of Belgium’s longest running dance floor. A celebration of this legacy and the renewed imprint is in order, coming in the form of a 30 track compilation of techno’s best and brightest from around the world. One track for one year, this collection of recordings highlights the status quo of enduring club music, beginning with a nod to the past: a re-release of Jeff Mills iconic ‘Step to Enchantment’ from 1993. This glance to the past quickly shoots us forward into the current state of techno with legendary artists like Planetary Assault Systems, DVS1, Steffi, Rødhåd, Donato Dozzy, DJ Nobu and many others who headlined the club in recent years. Cementing itself as a respected escapist institution, Fuse also calls on its growing local scene to prove why Brussels continues to remain a reference in the scene even outside of its own borders. 

An ode to the past and a hint to the future, Fuse shares this milestone with its original guests from 1994 all the way to its fresh party goers of the past years as a promise to keep its dance floor focused on quality music and timeless moments.

For Fuse’s fifth release, Brussels’ Altinbas returns for a whirlwind of meditative and harmonious techno. Solidifying his identity of focused yet vibrant club music, the Fuse resident and label co-curator offers his second contribution ‘Sustain’ as a dancefloor-enveloping take on modern techno. Known for rich chords, whipping pads, and dry percussion, Altinbas proves once again that his touch as a producer revolves around balance and calculated effect.

‘Trail of’ kick starts the EP with flourishing synthwork and a taste of dub as has become the Belgian artist’s signature. Dotting toms as rhythmic accents and a low to the ground shaker make for a swaying introduction with an infectious groove. Breaking things up in the second track, ‘Life Force’ presents Detroit style chord stabs and playful rhythmic work. With a mental synth at the foundation, the track presents 909 drums to reinvigorate atmospheric synths that make ‘Life Force’ a subtle hybrid of classic club genres. With a wink at Fuse’s heritage and a peak into its future, Altinbas’ focus on enduring music can be felt throughout ‘Sustain’ and truly understood in the Brussels club. As a fitting follow up, ‘Purpose’ opens the B-side with illuminating chords and rounded sound design and a pulsating low-end. With almost a lighthearted tone, the record fits across genres and rooms, claiming movement instead of mood as its sole medium. The title track ‘Sustain’ proves just that - a melodic sequence and progressive arrangement make for an intensely euphoric closing. Evolving melodies, opening filters, and big but calculated buildups sum up Altinbas’s work for Fuse’s fifth release on the new label. The record brims with warmth and yet it finds its way on darker dance floors with ease, providing a refined style of music that belongs only to him across the international scene.
