Anthony Rother enters our REC series at Fuse. At the vanguard of the electro scene, few artists like Rother can boast a 20-plus years career in such a prolific way. And one thing's for sure, this rich heritage seeps through this two-hour hybrid mix, recorded within the hallowed walls of our beloved Room 01.

With Rother's formula, you're in for alluring, overcast electro rhythms and ethereal melodies that weave together ideally for a buzzing club night. In the hands of his creative force, the intermittent appearances of computerized's effects-laden vocal manipulations never felt so well. It's close-knit, cohesive, and yet so surprising. Casting our minds back to the debut of the hotshot duo of the moment, X CLUB., at Fuse. Their 4 hours high-energy set in our Room 01 stomping ground perfectly captures the Aussie pair’s enraptured spirit.

Boasting an endless selection of rolling and vibrant 90s techno-infused tracks and a perpetual groove laced with enticing vocals, we’re facing the very definition of an adrenaline rush. Loaded with peaks and climaxes and a pace that never lets up, it embodies the incandescent vibe we all enjoyed back in August.

Two Fuse residents unite. Fuse Resident DC Salas is a Belgian DJ and producer hailing from Brussels with Peruvian origins. With house, techno, wrongspeeder, disco & New Beat as his trademark. 

Sara Dziri, Fuse resident, DJ, music producer, sound designer and performer, Sara Dziri is a multi-faceted artist. Her dj sets and productions stand for surprising rhythmically complex house and techno. Hybridity and melancholy are central themes in both her music and her overall artistic work.

A look back at Philippa Pacho’s profound performance in our Room 01 at the positivesource showcase, which she co-founded hand in hand with Blue Hour. The Stockholm-born artist delivered a knife-edged vision to techno during a two-hour memorable set at her imprint night in Fuse.
 
Like a gentle hold, Philippa's narration is as tactile as poignant. Dark without being obscure, musing yet energetic, no one can doubt the decade of musicality that has flowed through her veins ever since. Drawn to sharp kicks or a few clipped vocals here and there, Philippa Pacho's mix is an invitation, or even more an exploration, to a complex and appealing inner world. A stand-out.

DJ Sweet6teen, known for her boundless sets often adorned with sweetness, is an energetic DJ with a deep passion for 90's rave music. Lea is a dedicated record digger who uncovers rare gems from the dustiest corners. With an unparalleled mastery of her craft, she bombards every dance floor with a wide range of genres: from house to trance, breakbeat to hardcore, UK Garage to the 2000s.

She does as she feels, following her instinct with a fearless disregard for genre constraints, enhancing her performances and making the experience most exciting. An element that sets her apart in the broad realm of electronic music and is hugely recognized by her fans. Have a listen.

XRDS REC 003 w/ Cinthie 

The REC series compiles outstanding performances captured at XRDS festival 2023, spotlighting artists who epitomize our affinity for electronic music. Our second recording features Cinthie, recorded live from The Outskirts on 20.08.23.

Cinthie Christl, the Berlin-based luminary, producer, DJ, owner of a renowned record store, and the driving force behind 803 Crystal Grooves. She has clocked over 25 years in the dance music industry, and ascended to become one of the most esteemed and revered figures in the electronic music scene, both within her hometown and on the global stage.

Digging into the root ethos of deep house—churchy piano runs, spiritual vocal hooks and jacking drums—got her started mixing as a teenager in the '90s. Cinthie's depth of knowledge radiantly shines through in her sets and her productions, which traverse through a broad range of classic and contemporary House and Techno sounds and that's exactly what she did on XRDS last summer. 

In essence, it must be acknowledged that Cinthie is pure dancefloor brilliance from start to finish, her diggings and her releases making perfect bedfellows.

The REC series curates exceptional performances from the XRDS festival 2023, shining a spotlight on artists who authentically capture our passion for electronic music. Our most recent recording features Superski's live set at The Outskirts on 19.08.23.

Voiski and Eliott Litrowski, both fixtures in the scene and acclaimed for their distinctive sounds, have collaborated under the alias Superski. They focus on consistently bright and melodic compositions, channelling the current electro trend through the lens of Italo disco.

This collaboration has given birth to the term Italo-techno—a fusion akin to pop music, blending melancholy with soaring melodies and textural dynamics in a manner often overlooked in conventional dance floor music. 

At its core, what makes Superski as a project exceptional is its ability to seize on the pop potential within the Italo-house-techno crossover and amplify it. This amplification doesn't compromise the foundation of heavy bass or powerful kicks necessary to propel the dance floor. We are honoured to have had this twofold at our festival and are excited to share the experience with you.

30 years of Fuse means 30 years of road paving. 

In over a quarter century, Fuse has stood the test of time by rooting itself in ageless music and employing pioneering artists - large or small, international or local - to command the decks of Belgium’s longest running dance floor. A celebration of this legacy and the renewed imprint is in order, coming in the form of a 30 track compilation of techno’s best and brightest from around the world. One track for one year, this collection of recordings highlights the status quo of enduring club music, beginning with a nod to the past: a re-release of Jeff Mills iconic ‘Step to Enchantment’ from 1993. This glance to the past quickly shoots us forward into the current state of techno with legendary artists like Planetary Assault Systems, DVS1, Steffi, Rødhåd, Donato Dozzy, DJ Nobu and many others who headlined the club in recent years. Cementing itself as a respected escapist institution, Fuse also calls on its growing local scene to prove why Brussels continues to remain a reference in the scene even outside of its own borders. 

An ode to the past and a hint to the future, Fuse shares this milestone with its original guests from 1994 all the way to its fresh party goers of the past years as a promise to keep its dance floor focused on quality music and timeless moments.

Under the new alias 'Civic Instruction' the pair holds tension like no other. June 1st was a testament to their evolving sound and approach to live sets as they seek to translate their performative chemistry into punching frequencies. Civic Instruction (live by Hadone & UFO95) — Recorded Live at Fuse Brussels (01/06/2024)

For Fuse’s fifth release, Brussels’ Altinbas returns for a whirlwind of meditative and harmonious techno. Solidifying his identity of focused yet vibrant club music, the Fuse resident and label co-curator offers his second contribution ‘Sustain’ as a dancefloor-enveloping take on modern techno. Known for rich chords, whipping pads, and dry percussion, Altinbas proves once again that his touch as a producer revolves around balance and calculated effect.

‘Trail of’ kick starts the EP with flourishing synthwork and a taste of dub as has become the Belgian artist’s signature. Dotting toms as rhythmic accents and a low to the ground shaker make for a swaying introduction with an infectious groove. Breaking things up in the second track, ‘Life Force’ presents Detroit style chord stabs and playful rhythmic work. With a mental synth at the foundation, the track presents 909 drums to reinvigorate atmospheric synths that make ‘Life Force’ a subtle hybrid of classic club genres. With a wink at Fuse’s heritage and a peak into its future, Altinbas’ focus on enduring music can be felt throughout ‘Sustain’ and truly understood in the Brussels club. As a fitting follow up, ‘Purpose’ opens the B-side with illuminating chords and rounded sound design and a pulsating low-end. With almost a lighthearted tone, the record fits across genres and rooms, claiming movement instead of mood as its sole medium. The title track ‘Sustain’ proves just that - a melodic sequence and progressive arrangement make for an intensely euphoric closing. Evolving melodies, opening filters, and big but calculated buildups sum up Altinbas’s work for Fuse’s fifth release on the new label. The record brims with warmth and yet it finds its way on darker dance floors with ease, providing a refined style of music that belongs only to him across the international scene.

A leader of the Portuguese wave in techno co-founding Hayes Collective while boasting acclaimed releases on Klockworks, Blueprint, and Soma, Temudo grabs the reins to take club music back to its days of audacity and risk taking. A more than promising up-and-comer turned modern reference, Temudo defends his reputation with a release showcasing depth in his various sonic universes and a deep understanding of his music’s history. For its seventh release, Temudo’s ‘Meteora’ is a logical next step for the club’s direction - a sweet spot between dancefloor efficiency and enduring aesthetic.

Combining the intrigue of mental soundscapes with the reliability of imposing rhythm, ‘Meteora’ finds itself collected, expressing effect through restraint. The title track, claiming the EP’s A1, is just that - a force of interweaving sound design and powerful micro transitions. Some believe the best techno records are able to express emotion and attitude despite its dissonant and machinelike nature; if that’s the case then Temudo has mastered the craft. ‘When I Grow Up’, however, puts the focus back on the body. What sounds like warbling tape modulation over a percussive lead makes this record an addictively delirious ride from start to finish, fitting in with the track before while shifting to different priorities. Proving his versatility, ‘Vrthng’ at first seems reminiscent of the minimal Berlin style with a higher pace, but quickly progresses into something intensely euphoric. With experience and measure, an out of the box approach can really pay off, and the added emotion in ‘Vrthng’ is certainly a turning point in the EP. This mindset is clearly carried over in the project’s conclusion : ‘It’s Always Past’. A surprising use of harmony and storytelling, this final chapter ends with Temudo sealing his style with confidence. The track is mystified by its chords, ending ‘Meteora’ with a question mark that leaves us in anticipation for what Temudo dares to do next.

Back in December, Calibre’s Shelflife Sessions swept drum & bass right back onto the main floor, front and center, where it belongs. To seal the night, the reins went to local heavyweights Bredren. The Belgian trio carved out a closing set that’ll echo down Rue Blaes for a while with two and a half hours of pure, calculated chaos, delivered with vocal attitude, screaming subs, and just the right amount of percussive energy. 

From deep rollers to high-octane steppers, their selections danced between the cerebral and the savage, keeping the pit on a steady boil. A lesson in momentum, temperature control, and taste.

Bredren ― Recorded Live at Fuse (20.12.24)

After a strong first release on Fuse Imprint with ‘The Wall’, resident Phara returns to his home base for a mirage of introspective tracks. Furthering his research of emotive club music, ‘Soft Glow, Fierce Light’ seems more than appropriately named. Shimmering melodies, swinging rhythms, and a comforting ambiance, Phara proves that his constantly evolving musical persona and relationship with the Brussels club are built to last.
 
Beginning with ‘Unfold’, the Belgium-native sets the board with a warm introduction. Reminiscent of his recent endeavor as In Glass, a balance is struck between the slower tempo techno of his secondary alias and the higher club energy that he’s been known to bring as Phara. Steady at first, filters open wide half way through the track to ensure maximum euphoria off or on the dance floor. ‘Flow’ follows in suit and here the producer keeps the level constant and tense with intricate melodic design. A steady groove with blossoming synth lines make ‘Flow’ a beauty to witness unravel. Warm chord stabs make for a nostalgic EP and shows once more that the seasoned producer frequently enjoys prioritizing emotion over drive. Flipping the vinyl to the other side, ‘Wave to Wave’ points a finger to all things dub, even a discrete appreciation of house music, through the harmony of his keys to the sound design of his square bass, and its common borders with techno. Juggling in snare rolls and rides throughout, Phara sets the tone with a soothing piece of work for lovers of the eyes-closed genre. To conclude, ’Solitude’ brings a polished vintage effect to the project that ‘Wave to Wave’ introduced, this time with heightened intensity worthy of a set closer. Punchy stabs make this a particularly extraverted track, fitting into almost any record bag - Room 01 or Motion Room friendly. Thundering claps over an electric melody, these kinds of tracks aren’t new to Phara. Pouring soul into his tracks, Phara proves once again to be a truly central artist in developing the Fuse sound and continuing his stylistic journey.

Last year, on November 30th, Fuse welcomed Denmark's Mama Snake to our control room in light of her Amniote Editions night.  With an untamed aura spreading through the space, the dark hours were marked by hypnotic, slightly mental, and utterly intense temperaments.

Snapping between writhing acid lines, crisp tribal rhythms, and trance-laced techno, her selections struck a perfect balance between the meditative and the manic. The floor was hers: fluid, fierce, and full of intent. A reminder that mastery doesn’t always shout; it listens, reacts, and dares to draw outside the lines when the need knocks.

The pacing was expertly crafted, grinding tension, explosive peaks, and moments of eerie restraint, all delivered with a raw, analog-driven energy that kept the floor locked in. A highly respected figure for dancers and artists alike, Markus Suckut offers his signature built-to-last sound to Fuse with ‘Moments’. In this style, confidence is key and Suckut provides soul to club music in a way few have been able to. Simple yet ever so refined, the German artist furthers his sound with the Belgian label with rolling tracks that reach beyond the dancefloor yet again. ‘Moments’ is just that, a collection of instances spent inside the mind or outwards into the world in order to move and connect. 

The A1 remains usually the first impression of every record, so it makes sense that ‘Patience’ would mark the beginning of this eight release for the Brussels’ club. A bubbly yet impactful track, ‘Patience’ rolls through six minutes in no time with eccentric percussion and a viscous low-end. Unafraid to break the codes in order to push his sound forward while respecting the essence of what makes the genre great, Suckut puts years of mastery at work in order to find balance and air between his elements. This impressive low-end rhythm is continued into ‘Resurrection’ - which is more of an exploration of dissonance and texture than its predecessor. With hi-hats whipping around the stereo field through metallic bends and a harmonic kick/bass, the record knows for what context ‘Resurrection’ is reserved for. ‘Myth’ then comes along to lighten the load with a positive groove and an extraverted arrangement, maintaining balance to the overall EP. Complete with a subtly modulating live-played percussion that echoes the character of a vocal and layered over an almost vintage drum sequence, the persistence of ‘Myth’ finds a sweet spot between techno and house, making it a versatile tool in almost any record bag. The soul of the EP, however, belongs to its title track ‘Moments’. Appropriately named, this fourth piece concludes Markus Suckut’s latest statement for the dancefloor. A suspension of time in structure as much as in melody, the producer takes the time to unveil each element of the record while maintaining a burning intriguing throughout. A truly timeless piece reserved for only the most special moments and most deserving crowds, Suckut proves once again that his understanding of emotion through his medium will echo his music across the world for years to come.

REC 37 w/ Innershades

Back on June 7th, Fuse resident Innershades took over in the Motion Room through a moment that dived deep into his signature fusion of electro, acid, breakbeat, and early trance influences. Raw, eclectic, and emotionally charged, his sound nods to '90s rave culture while staying sharp and relevant throughout the journey. REC 37 is a no-frills, high-intensity recording, authentic to the floor and true to his roots.

Innershades ― Recorded Live at Fuse (07.06.25)

Fuse resident Downside delivers the ninth release on Fuse Imprint with Traces Of Spring, a record that reflects both clean articulation and careful tension building. Across four tracks, he explores a balance of intensity and restraint, depicting a narrative that mirrors his evolving role within the club.

Opening with Until It Fades, the A1 sets a hypnotic tone through patient layering and ambient space, hinting at drama while maintaining subtlety. With Blackout Protocol, the atmosphere turns into focus through an imposing, clear low-end that takes control, driving a darker framework designed for moments of deepened urgency. On the flip, Revolt moves with raw immediacy, its rhythm pushing forward with detail and weight, yet strangely uplifting. Closing with the title track, Traces Of Spring offers a suspended atmosphere, delicate in rhythm and melody, it's a reflection of the fragile balance between soft synth tension hanging by a thread and a focused, monumental pace.

With this release, Downside contributes a coherent and articulate statement to the Fuse catalogue, one that captures both the physicality of the dancefloor and the subtleties that extend beyond it.

On May 30, Akua lit up Room 01 with a fierce blend of 90s-inspired techno, acid basslines, twisted bleeps, and relentless machinal funk. Sharing the lineup with VIL, Phara, and Marie-Julie, she carved out her own space, evoking Detroit and Midwest techno’s deconstructed roughness and the continuum of rave culture. Her set was a bold convergence of classic heritage and edgy futurism, and we're all for it.

Back on August 30th, the Motion Room at Fuse became a canvas for AgainstMe’s storytelling. Characterized by physical intensity, the set moved through hypnotic ambiance, a dub focus with patient tension, and saturated textures. He played the tone right for that night, with a selection paving the way perfectly for Psyk and Orbe, who carried the narrative forward in their own voices. In retrospect, the moment will stand as a reference point for deep journeys ahead. Beyond metrics, beyond measure, capturing what this kind of sound truly brings to the dancefloor.

Marie Montexier – Recorded Live at Fuse (23.08.25)

A central figure in the contemporary scene, Setaoc Mass delivers five tracks of intimidatingly dystopian techno for Fuse’s next release. Synth-heavy and melodically focused, the UK native brews moody tones over his signature percussion to provide a touch of improvisation for balance. In Static Rush, genres and influences collide under the persistence of concrete club music.
A haunting synth sequence opens FUSE10 with ‘The Sky Above’, showcasing Setaoc Mass’s intentions for the rest of the release. Playing with decay and sifting through shakers, the seasoned producer fills the spectrum with constant tension throughout the entirety of the A1. In ‘Shade’, whipping white noise over sixteenth synth notes, the pressure rises and falls with whistling accents on the transitions. Keeping the dancer on their toes with a lively arrangement, Setaoc Mass keeps his hands on all elements to maximise the record’s progression. Moving to the B side, Feeling blends harmony and robust tone. Claps thunder through the track’s warehouse acoustics, complemented by a sharp lead cutting through a heavy low end. The structure remains elusive and quick like the previous two, and it boasts a full, grinding sound destined for peak-time sets.
The end of Feeling then dips down into a two-track journey of ethereal sound designs and soft melodies. Keeping the rhythm swinging, Flutter By settles the atmosphere with an IDM-inspired iced synth and pads. This change of emotion pushes depth into the record, providing a welcome surprise in Static Rush. Setaoc Mass then signs off with the final contribution to the EP, Overload. Pushing further than ever into melody with hints of Detroit electro and a complete absence of a kick, the producer teases a slithering arrangement that ends his record with a bold conclusion.
