A living legend is added to our REC series. Relive the memorable set of Steve Rachmad, the man with numerous aliases, including Sterac, recorded in our Room 01. As you would expect from the Dutch DJ and producer, his performance reflects more than two decades of clubbing and perfecting a sound that is often attributed to his adopted home of Detroit. ﻿

Two hours set of a languid ascension, filled with unsettling yet reassuring tracks all the way through. Add varied influences, some heavy groove, a big pinch of skill, and you get his trademark. There is no doubt why the artist has been performing for so many years, and this recording is further irrefutable evidence.

With releases on renowned labels such as Ostgut Ton, MDR, and Monkeytown Records, and a celebrated residency at Berghain, ACR's hybrid sound—melding intricate breaks, pad-driven harmonies, and industrial textures—has solidified his place at the forefront of the scene.

ACR’s set begins on a mystical note, drawing listeners into a deep sonic journey interspersed with fragmented sounds. From the start, his signature style is unmistakable, immediately captivating and immersive. The rhythms gradually become more danceable as lush pads dissolve into the background, giving way to groovy, dub-influenced, and house-tinged elements. Halfway through, ACR shifts gears, seamlessly transitioning into more techno-driven beats that evolve into energetic house bangers.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ ANSWER CODE REQUEST

Patrick Gräser, better known as Answer Code Request, has carved out a distinctive niche in the techno landscape with his hybrid musical style. His innovative approach, characterized by a fusion of pad-driven harmonies, intricate breaks, and an industrial tone, has set him apart since his emergence on the esteemed Ostgut Ton label in 2012.
This breakthrough led to a prestigious residency at Berghain, further cementing his influence in the scene. Gräser’s work, including various releases and remixes for notable labels such as Ostgut Ton, MDR, Dolly Deluxe, and Monkeytown Records, has garnered widespread acclaim.
Gräser’s journey from a forest workshop near his hometown to the forefront of techno is marked by his wide-ranging musical tastes. His nights, spent mixing records from Hardwax and Delirium, contributed to the development of his characteristic sound, a blend that includes elements of jungle, drum ‘n’ bass, Detroit, IDM, and UK bass. This mix by Berghain / Panorama Bar resident @Ben-Klock first aired on August 3 as part of @OstgutTon-official's takeover of @RinseFM and @Rinse-France. For this special simulcast on both stations in Paris and London, Ostgut Ton artists were asked to showcase a different musical side of theirs.

Ben Klock: “This mix is a journey through different tempos and genres of electronic music and more. I wanted to create a smooth trip that is basically an ambient mix, but includes also uptempo tunes, so the vibe is more in the music than in any specific bpm. Basically a mix of music that I would like to listen to at a chill afterparty with a hand full of friends and a beautiful sunrise in front of us.”
