Luisteraars! Ik (Jesse) was op vakantie, Rutger is op vakantie, dus eigenlijk hadden we een zomerstop ingelast. Maar die is bij deze weer uitgelast, want ik ga solo nog wat interviews doen. Verwacht van mij gesprekken met gasten die sowieso een introductie behoeven.

Bijvoorbeeld mijn gast in deze aflevering: Wouter Leenders, bezig met promoveren aan de Universiteit van Californië en connaisseur van de Nederlandse belastingpolitiek. Leenders is eigenlijk de lokale franchisenemer van Thomas Piketty: wat Piketty deed voor Frankrijk en de VS – ongelijkheid in kaart brengen –, dat doet hij voor Nederland.

Zo schreef Leenders samen met een aantal co-auteurs dit jaar een belangwekkend onderzoek over ongelijkheid en herverdeling: wie betaalt er belasting en wie ontvangt de overheidsuitgaven? Spoiler: de rijkste Nederlanders betalen het laagste tarief.

Ook deed hij onderzoek naar belastingontduiking. Hij kreeg geanonimiseerde gegevens van de Belastingdienst over spijtoptanten die hun zwarte vermogen op bijvoorbeeld een Zwitserse bankrekening alsnog opgaven. Wie zijn deze belastingfraudeurs?

En we hebben het over expatregelingen. Europese landen beconcurreren elkaar om schaars personeel door fiscale douceurtjes aan te bieden voor veelverdieners die naar hun land komen. In Nederland kunnen buitenlandse veelverdieners bijvoorbeeld 30 procent van hun inkomen belastingvrij krijgen als ze hier komen werken. Nog leuker: zij hoeven – om onnavolgbare redenen – ook geen belasting te betalen over hun buitenlandse vermogen.

"D Complex" aka Daniel Chavez aka "D Complexity" is a 30 year pioneer of the Los Angeles/U.S. underground electronic dance music movement. He has always pushed the boundaries of blending styles, genres and tempos since 1992. While most of the talented dj's & producers are firmly rooted in their genres Daniel always maintained his "Fusion" sound, delivering unrelenting creativity, "Digital" experimentation and "Infinite" rhythms from the urban & suburban world of music and dance. Using the turntables & midi controllers as instruments pushing the jazz theory within electronic music. The OG DJ of the Southern California Moontribe outdoor gatherings and L.A. Rave veteran dj goes largely unrecognized for his crucial contributions to the electronic dance music movement.  He has released numerous mixtapes in the 90's as well as establishing one of the first underground Techno/Electronic label Automat Records in 1997. After years of hard work and personal tribulation and growth Automat Rec. became the vision for Fusion Digital Infiniti (2014). He continually studies music production and collects music which makes djing & producing innate. His openness to all cultures and styles of music have led him to travel all around the world, inspiring generations of artists, dj's, dancers and producers. He continues to push his legacy as a Muslim, sound designer, dj, music producer, and artist.

Through the sound & inspiration co-founder and talented producer; "Mondaine" aka Lorena Chavez aka "Digital Empress"; She got her start as a Dj playing jungle tracks on KPFK Radio (Los Angeles) as DJ Enokio at the age of 18.
