Emerging from the renowned Atjazz Record Company, TrueSelf has carved a distinct place for himself within the electronic music scene. His journey with the label has been marked by creative evolution, collaboration, and a dedication to pushing sonic boundaries.

Introduced to electronic music at the age of seventeen, TrueSelf quickly found inspiration in pioneering labels such as Warp Records, Tru Thoughts, Ninja Tune, and Mo’Wax. What began as an after-hours passion for DJing and production soon developed into a lifelong pursuit of sound exploration and artistic expression.

Throughout his career, TrueSelf has performed alongside some of the industry’s most respected names, gracing stages at iconic venues including Back to Basics at Stinky’s Peephouse, Stealth, The Rainbow, The Custard Factory, Ministry of Sound, Mint Club, and on the Mixmag Tour, as well as at international events.

While his roots are deeply grounded in House music, TrueSelf’s creative approach defies boundaries. In both his productions and DJ sets, he blends the electronic with the organic — weaving together soulful guitar licks, analogue synths, and textured rhythms to create music that resonates with emotion and authenticity. His sound is not just heard, but felt — a reflection of his true self.

Bristol-based producer Sean McCabe released his first tracks in 2003 and has since fine-tuned a trademark sound that is effortlessly soulful.

McCabe made his name in house, developing a long-running relationship with legendary US garage label King Street Sounds and remixing the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Evelyn Champagne King, Carolyn Harding, Blaze, and Roland Clark. Since then he’s amassed an impressive discography, delivering inspired productions for labels like Local Talk, Strictly Rhythm, Vega Records, Tribe, and Quantize – plus an original solo album for Z Records.

A quick listen to any of his productions or one of his superb DJ sets will confirm this attractive, emotion-rich aesthetic. While rooted in house, his sound regularly takes on flavours of disco, boogie, Afro, deeper grooves, proto-house, ‘90s garage-house dubs and much more besides.

As an artist, his 2014 debut album entitled ‘It’s Time’ on Z Records displays his musical range and versatile quality production skills. The album hit Number 1 on Traxsource in its first week and has received support from the likes of Solar Radio, Mi-Soul, Kiss FM, and Jazz FM.

As a DJ, he forged a reputation at the legendary Southport Weekender, where he performed regularly. Anyone who can impress the notoriously knowledgeable Southport Weekender crowd must be doing something right. Sean has also travelled the world, playing as far afield as Asia and South Africa, as well as regular appearances across Europe and the UK. Refreshingly, he seems to have no particular aspirations to play in gargantuan clubs, and admits to preferring gigs in small, intimate venues, where he can make a connection with the crowd.

As a producer, McCabe is constantly learning and evolving, taking his sound in different directions. He admits to a love of vintage synthesizers – picked up from listening to classic New York boogie and ‘80s soul. In 2016, Sean continued his musical journey by launching ‘Good Vibrations Music’ record label – a natural evolution of his renowned Good Vibrations events in Bristol.

With a successful album under his belt, his own record label and notable collaborations with the likes of Karizma, Turbojazz, and DJ Spen, his reputation for bringing quality soulful dance music to the masses continues to rise.

I’m one of a kind; you'll have to meet me to understand for real. My love affair with music began from the day I was born, having been born into a reggae sound system family. I’ve been putting needles on records and playing music from the tender age of six. At the age of fifteen I started my own sound system with my brother and a few school friends under the guidance of my father and the collective was named Young Destroyer. We went on from 1985 to 1992 to become one of the most talked about group of boys of our generation, winning the “Sound Clash” trophy in 1985, which we then went on to successfully defend the following two years. House music found me in 2000. I first heard the sound in Birmingham in the late 90s and two DJ’s stuck in my mind, CJ Mackintosh, and a DJ who played in Marco Polo’s in the early hours of the morning, who I later found out to be Andy Ward; these guys showed me a whole new sound and a way forward. Today it’s all about House music and its gospel and progressive styles. 2002 saw me join a community radio/internet station called House FM, and the “Saviour” was born. My artistic foresight developed through my show called “House-Fusion” and with the combined talents of two associates, an alliance was forged and the Fusion Boyz was born. After a year of continued success, artistic differences and personal commitments saw the Fusion Boyz disband. Luckily I had established a good brand so stayed on as a solo DJ continuing for another 4 years and today continue to spread the love of soulful house across the world. After House FM, I had the opportunity to work on another community radio/internet station called Unknown FM for 2 years. I now do a show on Sundays on SOS internet radio station. As a DJ I have been blessed to play at some of the finest Bar/venues Pasha London, the Ministry of Sound, Hidden,Cafe du paris, Fire,Egg and Bagley’s (Kings Cross) are probably the most well known. I have also played overseas at Metro (Kyrgyzstan) and in 2011 I had the great honour to play a live radio set for Pressure Radio at the Vocal Booth Weekend (Spain). As a promoter between 2000 and 2010; I had a number of very successful parties under the House-Fusion/Bodyfusion Soul banner.
