The track blends eerie atmospheres and heavy basslines with modern synth work, while nodding to the classic roots of dubstep. Weird times call for weird tunes. When I envisioned what this track would be like, I kept thinking about how it would feel to be venturing into a deep ancient forest. With feelings of uncertainty, excitement for what lies ahead, the vastness of the trees towering over you, and the wildlife becoming aware of your presence. 
I recorded a lot of instruments in this one, from guitar, chimes, singing bowls, percussion, in an attempt to bridge the world of traditional and electronic sounds together.

Today's premiere comes to you from Brooklyn's Alien D. The latest release from Lillerne Tapes, Sunday Painting, is a mind-bending journey through pillowy synth textures and kaleidoscopic rhythms. Alien D (aka Stress aka Mr. Aloe) brings a playful approach across the EP. One that is protean in nature from track-to-track, yet shares a common feeling of psychedelic repose.

Our premiere track today off Sunday Painting, "Compassion Track", begins with a contemplative ambient intro that elicits fractalized imagery and gives way to swooshing downtempo grooves. Swirls of color drip down the canvas and begin to pool towards the bottom like a bubbling caldera. The brush strokes begin freeform, and as the piece continues to take shape, become more angular and defined as percussive wisps pitter-patter in the distance. Alien D creates an empathic listening experience that leaves one with a feeling of connectedness to the world around them. It is a track that suits introspective meditative explorations as much as material heartfelt connection to one's fellow being.

Unfaithful Guide w.Koehler [Monthly Show] [14.08.2020]

After a veritable banquet of wall to wall specials, WE FORFEIT are returning to their roots of pulling out records and seeing what happens.

The Summer might not have been a great time for travelling, but it was fair decent when it comes to stocking the control station with new records. For this latest edition, as the warmth subsides to the welcome cool of Winter, Robbie delves into some of the new deliveries, from golden italo  to modern day synth sunbeams.

Flying solo for this one, Chris having recently left Madrid but he should be back on the airwaves soon, Robbie steers, while the cat co-pilots, a course through recent releases by Blanco Y Negro, Bordello A Parigi, Gated Recordings (https://igloomag.com/profiles/gated-opening-doors), Ice Machine and Schrodinger’s Box.

With holidays meaning stay home, an attempt was made to bring order to WE FORFEIT central during the long hot Summer days of Madrid. Sleeves were rolled up and sleeves rearranged as Robbie went elbow deep into the records to try and organise em. Forgotten gems of house, synth wave and more were rediscovered and revived for October’s show including pieces from A Shortwave Mystery, Oppenheimer Analysis and Vangelis.
