Rodney fully immersed himself in the San Francisco underground music scene upon moving to the city from Los Angeles in 2014. With a respectful understanding of the unique culture that exists around collecting and playing vinyl, Rodney pursued deeper musical knowledge and a fine-tuning of his skills under the mentorship of Tyrel Williams. His unwavering love for vinyl quickly extended into his life away from his decks at home, ushering him into working for Vinyl Dreams and RS94109; two of San Francisco’s most beloved record stores. Rodney recently moved back to LA and is already on his way to becoming an LA underground staple.

When a young Rabih Beaini travelled from east Beirut to west after the end of Lebanon’s civil war he crossed a musical Rubicon, on the other side a record store whose eclectic mix of sounds and cultures would have a profound impact on his later praxis. He’s since become known for championing an off the wall mix of references from Serbian krautrock to tape music, tarab to drone, and is a critical voice for anything outside the usual remit of western electronics. This avant-garde tack has made Beaini’s ‘Morphine Records’ a go-to name for those in the know, forward-thinking fare that magically criss-crosses a world of music usually out of reach. Horoom brought that alchemy a little nearer last month, hosting Mutant Radio’s ‘Out of Whack’ with Beaini playing as headline invitee. Bassiani Podcast 152 is his set recorded live: a synthesis on the cusp of east and west, earth and space, a truly matchless energy, boundary-pushing frequencies from one of techno’s most interesting players.

The Seed Of the Begotten A Tragedy

This mix was recorded in 2010 for the treasure trove which is promomixes.com. 
Promomixes 006 features my take on the early Belgian New Beat / EBM wave which hit Belgium between 1985 and .... well, depending on who you talk to it lasted maximum four or five years before it turned itself into a commercial, money-infested parody. But during those early years it was one of the most invigorating and creative moments in Belgium's musical nightlife history. The eclectic blend between 80ies New / Cold Wave, Electronic Body Music and fresh, homemade New Beat tunes was unique and happened only in Belgium. A strange country, indeed....

This mix was made with Antwerp's (in)famous Prestige club in mind. While I always found Prestige's music policy to be a bit on the safe side the place was important to me: it was the first real club I experienced from the inside. It definitely did awake something in me: a fascination for dance music, nightlife, and the intense hunger to be a part of it all.

The selection in this mix is made from a very personal perspective: my imaginary, perfect Prestige. Older (Belgian?) listeners will hear a lot of 'classics', newer listeners can go about and discover. Enjoy.

Cem, A resident DJ & founding member of the infamous Berlin based party and upcoming record label @herrensauna, has a preference for UK-tweaked tracks from across the contemporary milieu of harder club works, nor with a fear of breakbeats or sullen moments, he's a rare species of DJ that seeds intensity in even the most hesitant of movers. And with a background in queer club culture going back a decade to his hometown of Vienna, side-by-side with a punk upbringing, CEM's well versed in the essential metrics of unrelenting after dark commotion.
DJ Saliva, A resident DJ & founding member of Porto based queer party @arenaspa, and a visual artist who’s currently curating visuals and artworks for Herrensauna. In his sets he aims for a hybrid fusion of old school & hi tech new school sounds, from up tempo electro & breaks to trippy & hypnotic tribal materials. 
These two unique DJs has just released their first track “Dragon's Breath” out on a V\A (Infierno Eterno) for Magdalena’s Apathy.
