The first guest in August is Brooklyn-based veteran producer, DJ, and performer R. Gamble. Originally from Memphis, he runs the Lost Soul Enterprises label which boasts releases by Bergsonsist, J Tijn, Shit and Shine, Vapauteen, and others. What began as a monthly night in the infamous Bushwick dive bar Wreck Room is now a residency at Good Room, H0L0, and The Lot Radio, celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2022. Aside from releasing on his own imprint, his work is featured on labels such as Mannequin Records, Public Systems Recordings, Primitive Languages, Marguerite Records, and more. Includes music by Sophie du Palais, Borusiade, SC-164, Broken Englishg Club, The Hacker, Svengalisghost, and many more. Lock in for an hour of surefire electro and EBM-tinted floor movers.

Galactic Funk Podcast 047 - R Gamble

Closing off the summer with a mix from the up-and-coming Milanese project Bianco Negativo. Claudio and Davide have been building their discography over the last year with releases on labels such as their own Marguerite Records and Warsaw-based Syntetyk. Musically, the duo lies somewhere on the border between dark synth-wave and EBM, but their second label, Tocca Il Futuro, showcases their affinity for the eclectic. This week we are very pleased to welcome Timothy J. Fairplay to the series. This revered artist has been a feature of electronic music now for nearly two decades. He started out playing electro and ghettotech in the early 00’s which included his time in Cold Wave band Battan, as well as the super duo Asphodells with Andrew Weatherall, as well as his solo work. His mark was left at clubs like The Good Room, Fabric and Robert Johnson as well as festivals like DT Camp, Convenanza and IFM. His recognizable production style is nestled on labels like Pinkman, Mechatronica, Brokntoys, Knekelhuis as well as Andrew Weatherall’s legendary label Rotters Golf Club. He was the driving force behind the cult label Crimes Of The Future and last year started his new label Dungeon Module with his album ‘A Snowstorm In The Tropics’ as well as releasing the album ‘The Fast Lane’ on Weapons Of Desire the same year. Timothy has a number of records coming out this year starting this month with his new album ‘Free Andromeda’ on Höga Nord. Lock in for an hour from on of the masters in the scene.
