[TIFMIX01] This mix is focused on music released in Italy - mostly during the 80s, a crazy decade for Italian music. On one hand it has been the only decade when Italian artists has made international dance hits (Den Harrow - Future Brain is the first example coming up to my mind atm), on the other hand a lot of under the radar indie labels released an enormous amount of great experimental / ambient stuff, mostly on cassette but sometimes on vinyl too. Many of these recordings has seen the light for a second time as they’ve been reissued in the last few years, but most of them are still waiting to be brought to a bigger audience. File under: Ambient, left-wing fanzines experiments, mail art, sound poetry, library-notreally-library, spoken word, Italian indie pressings.

Our April podcast comes from Amsterdam-based DJ, producer, and label owner Robert Bergman. @robert-bergman

Formerly part of the Rush Hour Records crew, we’ve been following Robert’s Redlight Radio show for a long time. If you haven't listened, the show covers many genres, but usually leans to the lo-fi and leftfield side of House, Techno, New Wave, World and Folk music (amongst others).

As a producer, he’s released some killer music on labels such as Dekmantel and L.I.E.S., as well as mixtapes on The Trilogy Tapes, and several releases on his own label BREW, which he started in 2016.

We’re so happy to share this mix, which is typically eclectic, full of great music, and perfect for listening to at home, or wherever you might be locked down.
