Welcome to Gated's 43rd podcast.
This month we're proud to present an exclusive experimental modular set recorded  live by O-Ma and Pierre Montagnon over periods of lockdown.  Tokyo based O-Ma is well known in the scene there for his mind bending, gritty and grimey sonic adventures in and around the megalopolis but also in the Japanese mountainous countryside festivals that periodically crop up through the year. 
Combined with talented musician and producer Pierre (based in France and Switzerland), who has a penchant for ambient collages and experimentation (think Stockhausen, the Berlin school , Pan sonic, the Raster-noton label etc..) and you know we're in for a wild ride off the beaten track. The set is riddled with beauty and terror in equal measure.
Just before that Node serves up some quality Gated tracks either out now or mastered and ready for future release.  
These are dishes best served via nice quality audio devices, be it headphones or speakers.

Signals 23 has landed courtesy of Polish Electro Queen, Charlie. 

Based in Kraków, Charlie runs the party Szum, where she joins the dots between icy Electro and euphoric Italo. For years now she's been mastering her craft as a DJ, both at local parties and further afield, most recently at underground spots in Leipzig, Berlin [with the Mechatronica crew] and with Olivia in Zurich for Lux Institute. 

A talented and unique producer, Charlie has releases on labels such as Dom Trojqa, Mechatronica and a recent 7" on Ferry Lane Records - which includes a remix by none other than Italo Disco legend Flemming Dalum. Electronic music aside, Charlie is a skilled Pianist, and over the years has contributed work to both performances and movies. 

Enjoy this hour of what Charlie does best. Cold, inviting, ruthless euphoria throughout. One of our favourites yet.

Jędrzej Kowalczyk, also known as "Kovvalsky", is a dj, promoter, radio host, artistic director and a resident of the Jasna 1 club in Warsaw. Despite his relatively young age, he has been active on the club scene for over 14 years and has also been the driving force behind Jasna 1, which is one of the brightest and most important clubs on the Polish club scene. At Jasna, Kovvalsky has been solely responsible for club programming, where he did not cut corners and never settled for anything that was no in line with his vision for the club - as a result he was able to build a one of a kind club community, as well as a truly unique roster of resident DJs.

Outside of his work with Jasna 1, he has also been very prominent on the local Polish scene and has performed in most major clubs and festivals in the country. On top of it, he has also regularly played abroad in clubs such as: Berlin's Griessmuehle and //:about blank, Alphabet in Tel Aviv, Ankali in Prague, Korner in Taipei, Lizdas in Kaunas, Ballesta in Madrid or Klub 20/44 in Belgrade. Kovvalsky can be characterized by a broad musical spectrum; from disco classics and italo experiments to house, electro, techno and songs that no one can expect.

Lastly, it's worth mentioning that together with Pitti Schmitti, Kovvalsky has been running his own club night KOD (Disco Defence Committee), which quickly became one of the unmissable series on the Polish club scene. The main mission behind these nights is to offer something new and exciting to a scene overly saturated with generic techno.

H 015 w/ Timothy J. Fairplay (Live) @ HUMAN Club (05.08.2022)

Con más de 20 años al servicio de la electrónica, @timothy-j-fairplay ha forjado un sonido que abarca todo tipo de géneros desde un enfoque melódico y analógico. 

Junto a @andrew-weatherall formaba parte del dúo Asphodells, donde se dio a conocer rápidamente con trabajos de corte más lento. Influenciado por el sonido de la costa oeste holandesa, Timothy ha publicado en sellos como @pinkmanrecords, @knekelhuis o hoga-nord-rekords.

Sus últimas producciones han evolucionado hacia un sonido más rápido, pero manteniendo la esencia y eclecticismo que tanto le caracterizan. Recientemente ha estrenado @dungeon-module, su nuevo sello donde publicará próximamente nuevas referencias junto a otros artistas.

El pasado mes de agosto pudimos disfrutar de su directo durante la noche de @italo_moderni en Lolita. Una hora cargada de electro, melodías y sintetizadores que ya puedes escuchar en el nuevo Live @ Human disponible en nuestro SoundCloud.
