One for the Deejays! After a previous collaboration for FT's Vibe 3 compilation, Dawit Eklund and Max D (in Dolo Percussion mode) join forces for a proper 12" and come catchy, concrete, and correct. "Rise" rotates around and around, Dawit flexing on vocals and earworm keys while Dolo locks in, and "Wise" goes more for the jugular, wild organs and swinging perc over hooky vox and presssssure. Hot new dancefloor material from Alex Stein - the Brazilian/Bavarian producer is currently getting props from some of the biggest names in the industry. Releasing here on Oliver Huntemann's Senso Sounds, Stein is clearly turned into the sound du jour of the underground, producing
here a tight release of slick, driving techno. 'Zeit' needs to be heard on a massive system - it’s a surefire festival and main room winner huge buzzing swells and spacy moments give the track endless drama. 'Atomkraft' is also tough-as-nails  muscular techno with a springy groove and moment of high atmosphere. Hamburg’s own André Winter steps up for a remix of the title track, adding his own signature vibe to proceedings likely to get as much attention as the original.

Drumcode favourite Harvey McKay returns to the label with a darker new sound.

The Glaswegian has been a regular contributor over the years, highlighted by the memorable ‘The Illusion of Control’ EP in 2014 and his newer work with brother Ryan under the Alias moniker. Earlier this year Drumcode released the duo’s ‘Pentatonic’ EP and featured a mix on Adam Beyer’s radio, which included ‘Black Dolphin’, kickstarting the hype on the track.

Named after the infamous Russian prison, the title track is dark, tough, deeply textured brooding affair, with a menacing touch than runs through its core. McKay then brings in a huge synth line and changes up the dynamic of the track, giving it a powerful and driving feel. ‘Retox’ is a dark and twisted heavy-hitting cut, driven by aggressive drums and bassline, while a hypnotic synth line sustains a sense of tension throughout the six-minute track. Concluding the package is ‘Cover Up’, a fantastic stripped back exploration into dark atmospheric techno territory that’s tailor made for the winter warehouse raving season.

We are talking about Arabian Prince >> In 1986 he was a founding member of N.W.A but when fellow member Ice Cube came back from the Phoenix Institute of Technology in 1988, Arabian Prince soon after left over royalty and contract disagreements. "I started off as a solo artist", he said, " so I was aware of what a royalty statement was. I knew that when these many records were sold, there is a quarterly statement. When you look at it, you can see how much money was paid and then share it. This was not the case. We were also never paid for touring." Eazy-E, Ice Cube and MC Ren remained as the main performers, DJ Yella was the turntablist and Dr. Dre was the main producer.

After leaving N.W.A, Arabian Prince began a solo career. His first album, Brother Arab, was released in 1989 with the hit single "She's Got A Big Posse"; Where's My Bytches followed in 1993.
