yourboykiran (Kiran) is an A&R, DJ, Producer, Presenter, and Curator based in London. His sound is inspired by a wide range of influences from Baile Funk, Jersey Club, Asian Underground, UKG, UK Funky and UK Dubstep to Electro, Footwork, 160 and Jungle.

On top of A&Ring for 4NC¥ (a label started by Foreign Beggars founder, PAV4N), he’s also the co-founder (alongside friend and collaborator, Darama) of the label, Bubblin which pairs each release with a comic book, and aims to bring art, music and story-telling together. He’s also part of the management team behind DAYTIMERS - a collective that aims to celebrate South Asian artistry. As well as day to day running, he’s been involved in putting on and programming various events, charity compilations, and hosting their Reprezent show.

“I wanted this EP to be a bit of a showcase of the range of tracks I like to produce and play! Being 3.5 years into my production, I'm constantly trying to produce different genres to build my skills and learn how to take inspiration from one genre and bring it into another. Some of the sounds in these tracks are inspired by other products and tracks that don't necessarily relate to the track I've made, and I really love that element of genre-fusing and blending things together. I also really love working with vocals, and I think there's something about the way a vocal sounds, that provides some sort of weird familiarity and draw to a track. Even if it's subtle vocal chops, I feel like it really draws me in. These 4 tracks work with vocals in different ways, with some being more specific vocals with actual lyrics, and others being more a vocal chop, and using it as an instrument.”

yourboykiran - Out Of Control

Wandering into new sound territory with Afro-Futurism and contemporary dance music has expanded Obeka’s writing and drum programming while building this Future Bounce project, challenging the forms of rhythmic emotion and identity carried from his ancestral origins.

This release showcases his awe-inspiring production skills, creative influences, and forward thinking sound. When initially sculpting his abrasive percussion sampling in cohesion with fast-attacking vocal chants and punching-synths found throughout most of the EP, he began to build a methodical approach to constructing his experimental sound. 

“The contrast is what really attracts me” Obeka explains, “A parallel sound pattern that drives relentlessly from start to finish became a common tool during the refinement of the project.’

This EP is a product of Obeka’s recent travels and reflection on his Caribbean and African roots. "Major influences were sparked from my travels in Colombia this year with its new Guaracha wave and South Africa’s ever growing GQOM scene impacted the writing massively by using warped and distorted 808-basslines with super sharp percussive rolls to apply more dramatic motion. Each track made for Kingdom is Rising evokes a frantic harmony in this mysterious new world, yet manifests diverse characteristics of Afro-Caribbean musical evolution with a dance-floor in mind."Obeka has ventured his sound in a multitude of UK cities and beyond the shores in Bologna, Brussels, Cuba, Lisbon and Munich and most recently finishing a debut tour in Colombia."

Kingdom Is Rising

"A 1 is better than a 0" (remixes) is a reimagined version of Bikôkô’s latest EP, which takes the listener on a musical journey through the lens of perfectionism and productivity obsession in everyday life.

Central to the essence of "A 1 is better than a 0" is the spirit of collaboration and cultural exchange, hence why Bikôkô had the idea to open up the project and its interpretation by remixing some of them. This compilation contains four remixes made by four artists from different parts of the world that connected with Bikôkô over the period of writing the original project.

The decision to collaborate with artists from diverse backgrounds and to sing in multiple languages was a deliberate choice aimed at honoring the rich tapestry of cultures that have shaped Bikôkô’s identity. It was also a conscious effort to ensure that the message of the project resonates with a global audience, transcending linguistic and cultural barriers.

A 1 IS BETTER THAN A 0 (Remixes)

twofold returns with a four-track of deconstructed club heaters for their Future Bounce debut in Free Air. The EP focuses on hard-hitting rhythm in the first half and expands outward into melody and atmosphere in the second, centering twofold’s dense production style throughout. The steady stomping march of a drumline opens up intro track “Ground”, while carnival drums juggle overhead. Title track “Free Air” ups the intensity, with snares and toms trading heavy blows over frantic hand percussion. Things get darker in “Subsurface”, where energetic rhythms knock against a backdrop of cavernous ambience. The EP’s closer “Skate” weaves a stuttered synth stab between huge metal clangs, sound effects, and skittish percussion. Free Air goes live on all platforms on 3rd April.

Last year, Jamz Supernova launched a brand new club series via her label, Future Bounce, turning to dancefloor sounds. Kicking off volume 2 of the series is The Busy Twist who first approached the label as part of their competition late 2020 and opened the dialogue to sign him for the next round of releases. Speaking of the collaboration, Jamz says, “we couldn't be happier to kick off vol 2 of the Club series with an esteemed producer such as The Busy Twist! These tracks embody everything we love, perfect for the club but inspired by the African Diaspora, showcasing The Busy Twist at his best!” 

Formerly a duo until 2015, The Busy Twist is headed by DJ and producer Oliver Williams, riding solo. Remaining rather elusive until now, he is ready to make his mark as the mastermind behind the vibrant music offerings they have become so known for. Always looking to join the dots between Afro, Latin and UK Bass, this new EP continues in that vein with an added splash of heads-down rave energy. Oliver aka The Busy Twist says of the records “ I wanted to create something that brings the listener back to the centre of a gig at prime time and recreate that nostalgic feeling of my early releases. I decided to go back to Ghana which was an integral part of the early Busy Twist sound. A visit to the Labadi Warriors and a jam session ended up being the components for “World Of The Spirits.” Already road tested in Jamz’ BBC Radio 1 ‘Essential Mix’, these tracks are primed and ready to be unleashed to the world.

London based Dubrunner is next to be called on in Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce club series, coming through with a two-tracker formed of a nod to sound system culture, and a feature from Breaka. 

Charlie Tilley adopted the alias ‘Dubrunner’ after putting in the hours at renowned sound system event ‘Subdub’, as a runner. Having settled into his own sound with heavy influences from 90s afrofuturist movement, his productions have been released on Scuffed Recordings. His DJ sets span across jungle, techno and breakbeat- having played alongside the likes of Iration Steppas, Goldie, Call Super and Addison Groove.

“This release is my take on UK dub & steppas in a modern dance music format. For those who’ve never felt the sheer power of a sound system in full swing, UK steppas dub is a criminally overlooked chapter of
dance music history. It’s formed of a dark, uncompromising, afrofuturist sound pioneered in the 90s by Iration Steppas, Jah Shaka, The Disciples, Aba Shanti-I, The Rootsman and Alpha & Omega.”

Riding high from the success of her 2-track release and off the back of a UK/EU tour - Bianca Oblivion returns to Future Bounce with a vocal version of EZ 4 Me. The initial release earlier this year, which included a dub version of EZ 4 Me, garnered support from the likes of Mixmag, Mary Anne Hobbs, DJ Target, DJ Mag and more. 

A true connector of the global club underground, Bianca Oblivion has been continuously drawing lines between US & UK bass music from Los Angeles CA. From her training as a dancer, and her involvement in the west coast club scene, Bianca is no stranger to dance music.

On vocal duties is Eliza Legzdina, a multifaceted Latvian artist who has become one of the worlds most streamed artists of her background. Legzdina is a singer, songwriter, rapper, poet and performance artist who grew up in London’s underground club scene and her pursuit of music is about bringing the audacity of rap, the melancholic narrative opera to her listeners as a source of inspiration. 

Legzdina has never hidden from expressing her views, the feminist and socially aware expression of her lyrics, authentic vulnerability and unapologetic expression of her sexuality allows her to connect with fans across the world, forming a special bond with women and members of the queer community.

From the shores of Bermuda to the inner-city musical depths of the UK underground club scene. Unearthed, heavy and convicting sound culture delivered by his Caribbean and African roots.

Bermuda born musician and visual designer Jahday Ford aka Obeka transitioned into the Manchester music scene in 2016 building a native sound and rhythm distinct to his homeland. The Me Gusta Collective Co-Founder blends native styles from Pan-African, Caribbean and South American origins that became essential for manifesting polyrhythmic electronic beats and tempos with a mix of live and software based drum recording. Obeka has ventured his sound in a multitude of UK cities and beyond the shores in Bologna, Brussels, Cuba, Lisbon and Munich and most recently finishing a debut tour in Colombia.

Fresh off his first year as a new resident for Oroko Radio based in Ghana, Obeka has dived into the airwaves of BBC Radio, Rinse FM, Rinse France, NTS Radio, Miami Community Radio and most recently Berlin radio Refuge Worldwide. Obeka has expanded his sound beyond the borders supporting musicians such as Lil Silva, Femi Kuti, Kampire, Sampha, Tinariwen and Ghanaian MC Bryte.

BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Jamz Supernova signs another act to her Future Bounce label! The second signee is a transatlantic one, upon featuring Swsh on her radio show she knew she had to sign her!

Swsh is a singer, writer & producer from Southern California. With just two EP’s under her belt it’s early days! Vibe wise she’s reminiscent of early Pink and a sprinkle of Anderson Paak. Switching between singing in her husky tone to near rapping. Her writing is forthright & covers everything from love and relationships, body and sex positivity, and more. In the past she’s worked with J.KELR, (producer for Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper, and Anderson .Paak.) She’s also featured on Grammy nominated producer Ricky Reed’s compilation. 

“Break The Fall” is an angry piano led ballad that is about navigating  a relationship with someone who’s having trouble figuring it out and might be looking for a crutch. It’s about being there for someone and then taking the necessary distance to be there for yourself too.

Future Bounce signs new South East London producer @Jturnerr. 

Leading the double A-side is ‘Retina’, a reflective, downtempo electronic track riding on an arresting undercurrent, densely layered with emotive instrumentation and introspective production.

In Turner’s own words, “Retina tells a story of a love that once was. From first feeling a lover’s eyes from across the room to the fierce, frantic downward spiral that pursues, ultimately having to draw a line under the past and move on to pastures new. It’s the common tale of a broken relationship, being messed around by an ex-lover and the lessons learnt from that experience.”

Jamz Supernova's label Future Bounce this year turns it's hand to the club, with a year long series of club releases which will culminate in a compilation! Picking artists who’s productions have been a staple in Jamz' DJ sets, each month will see an original, exclusive two track drop. Ranging from well known underground producers to those yet to have their moment, focusing on the UK & beyond!

The next release comes from Birmingham newcomer Timma T. Jamz first came across him via a bootleg he had released re-working Funky Anthem “Chantes” by Apple, which remained in her DJ sets for two years solid. Drawn to his fresh take on UK Funky, his productions feel like an indicator of where the sound is going. He’s an integral part of the next wave of DJ’s & producers coming out of the midlands & whilst it’s early days for Timma T he is definitely one to watch!
