OWABOWA is a Vancouver-based DJ playing afrobeats, afrohouse, amapiano, kuduro, and more. Her sets combine African dance music from around the world, drawing links and lines between cultures and rhythms. She fuses familiar with unfamiliar, popular with underground, dark with energetic. She aims to shine a light on the global scene as well as local music. A dancer herself, OWABOWA knows how to get people moving with her high-energy sets.

Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, OWABOWA made her way to South Africa for the first time a decade ago. Since then she's been back and forth between continents, immersing herself in African music and dance, and sharing these vibes with Canadian audiences.

OWABOWA has played gigs around the world (Toronto, New York, Johannesburg), has featured on international radio shows & media platforms, and has curated collaborative shows in Toronto and Vancouver.
