Post Rock Bitch

Post Rock Bitch (Working Title)

Written as a tribute to a young fellow musician I had the honour of playing with a few years ago. Rest In Peace.

The theme of the song is quite literally what the name suggests: To submerge oneself in a metaphorical bathtub, to escape the ghosts that haunt our daily lives and find a sense of temporary peace.

Submerge

This song captures the feeling of someone drowning in a lake on a rainy day. The first half is essentially the sorrow that troubles the individual's mind while they are sinking to certain death. 

The second half, when the drums come in, is an awakening. The sudden realisation that if they kill themselves they will never find the answers to everything that haunted them. The character now struggles to swim upwards. Whether they reach the surface or die trying, is open to interpretation.
