Holding On is a tender look at life in isolation. It is an exploration of dedication, love and longing, and was heavily influenced by time spent in lockdown during the global pandemic. The song contains a strong, stoic message of resilience and unity and hope set to the comforting acoustic guitars, classical strings, and a chorus full of harmonious vocals.

Forming in 2017, early releases ‘Far’, ‘Midnight Sky’ and ‘Keep a Secret’ captured a dedicated local following and earning the band their stripes on the burgeoning Birmingham ‘indie’ scene culminating in a packed out headline show at Muther’s Studio in November 2019, as well as previously netting a high-profile show at Godiva Festival alongside support for rising stars such as The Pale White and Bang Bang Romeo.

2020 has seen a meteoric rise in popularity for the band with a lineup change and their latest single ‘Infinite Life’ landing them their first major headline shows alongside their most widespread airplay to date, with exposure on BBC WM Introducing and Brum Radio.

Comprised of front-man Adam Norman, guitarist Jak Garrity, bassist Matt Levesley and drummer Alex Cowie, Future Fires are currently gigging across the country in support of their latest releases.
