As we continue on our journey here at Futurepast, we are pleased to welcome a trio that, for many years, we felt shared our vision, Frak! From Sweden, Frak have been founding an original hardware-based sound since the 80’s, first via their own label Börft before collaborating with other labels over three whole decades. 
 
On their ‘Formless Obstruction’ EP, Frak have provided a window into the sinister twists and turns of their work. On the A-side, you see creeping Detroit stylings of ‘Scientific Bella’ set against ‘Wrong Owl’ with it’s EBM underpinnings and industrial inflections. On the flip, ‘Concentrated Feed’ bubbles next to the razor sharp ‘Capacity Faun’, both are filled with characteristic machine quirks and experimentalism.

Antoni Maiovvi EP debuts on Italo Moderni with four original tracks influenced by the Bakalao from Valencia in the 90's. The so-called ''Ruta Destroy'' was a direct heir to the "Movida Valenciana" and consisted of the largest clubbing movement in Spain. It started in certain aspects the clubbing movement in the country, and had long-term consequences on the form of nightlife in Spain. Including a remix by Jensen Interceptor. Cardopusher and WLDV.

Johan Sturesson, Jan Svensson and Björn Isgren, better known to most as Frak are an electronic outfit based out of Karlskrona in southern Sweden, since the late 80’s through their own Börft Records, Frak have been releasing a heady brew of material ranging from EBM, New Wave and Minimal through to more robust Techno, Acid, Electro and all things in between. Recorded @ Studio Styrka January & February 2021, Karlskrona - Sweden.

"We hadn’t met for some time, as we live in different cities. So, when we joined forces for this recording, it was all from scratch and a bit of fumbling at first. But it struck us that this is it, this is the pure reason to why we do what we do. Jamming our way through machines and ideas is what it's all about."

Here they unveil their latest works via the Futurepast imprint and opening the release is ‘Scientific Bella Donna’, laid out across seven minutes with fuzzy distorted synth sequences, circling acid lines and crunchy analogue drums. Following is ‘Wrong Owl’, fuelled by a stuttering acid arpeggio, cavernous, reverberated drums and twitchy bass notes all dynamically evolving throughout.

Opening the flip side is ‘Concentrated Feed’, shifting focus to modulating percussion, gnarly, menacing bass drones and sporadic mind-altering synth melodies. ‘Capacity Faun’ then rounds out the release with crisp drums and choppy arp bass at its core, while stirring in dreamy bell chime melodies and squelchy resonant swells for an ethereal touch.

PREMIERE : Frak - Concentrated Feed (Futurepast)

At last! This is Lost Soul Enterprises big 15th release on wax, a tidy compilation of off-kilter dance floor cuts and misfit synthpunk anthems.
Side A commences with the gothic, neon-soaked Miami bass of ALONZO's "Cruising with Pap," featuring sinister verses delivered by a shadowy syrup-sipping secret guest vocalist. Up next is bucking bronco NICK KLEIN's slow-mo industrial headbanger "Posture Test.” The sonic equivalent of a sweat-soaked concrete floor, it lurches along at its own mechanical pace amid the metallic hiss and howl. Lastly, wild synth lines and ethereal dubbed-out samples dart in and out over a tough, punchy rhythmic foundation in NAEEM's "TLX," an android's sci-fi electro vision gone haywire.
On the B side, HEIDI SABERTOOTH’s “Was It You” launches us deep into chugging acidic territory, combining enigmatic spoken vocals and a psychedelic, slowly evolving SH-101 line over a persuasive groove. Like a slap in the face after that comes raucous synth-punk powerhouse SSPS with “Paradise Lozt,” raw as fuck, chanting a litany of dystopian tales atop pumping drums and a wash of demented organ-like synth stabs. Finally we close with the short but powerful “New Vape City” by the nomadic DOUCE ANGOISSE - an absolute earworm, a doleful coldwave ballad whose lush production plays perfect counterpoint to the icy, deadpan sentiments within.

Intriguing electronic duo Pola Women land on Rework’s Exlove label with a fantastic new six track EP.
This duo is made up of Desiree Lune alongside Michel Kuebler, a pair who are split between Berlin and Stuttgart and are inspired by the aesthetics of 80s disco and cinema. Desiree is a singer and writer working on various different projects while studying art at the Kunstakademie Stuttgart. She is used to performing on stage and links here with Michel Kuebler, who is part of electronic bands Rework and She Lies and is adept at crafting synth-based songs and innovative drum machine loops. As Pola Women, the pair create manic rhythms and explore pulsing, immersive sound worlds that combine new wave synthscapes with a signature krautrock beat.
Desiree surprises throughout with haunting and icy vocal lines, they're melancholic and super cold and come in both German and English. That is the case from the off with excellent opener 'Disco Disco.' Her vocals glide over the chattery percussion and tight synth rhythms that are made to make you move. 'Walking Home' is a brooding and downbeat gem, with sombre chords and dejected vocals over more stark drum loops that hark back to the sound of bands like Joy Division and Depeche Mode.
There is a dystopian but absorbing atmosphere to 'Toxic Women' with its frazzled chords and tinny hits, then 'Express' gets a little more playful. There is a hint of disco dazzle to the melodies, while big piano chords lift the mood as synths fire across the mix like shooting stars. The chilly retro chords of 'Never Ever' get you in a trance as rugged arpeggiators make for a tough groove that is softened by more great vocal work from Desiree. An instrumental version of 'Disco Disco' closes down this EP in chugging Kosmische style.

Following their live performances at the latest two Dimension Festival Editions and vinyl releases on international labels such as Slices of a dog, Money Sex, Odd socks and Sorry For This featuring a remix by none other than mr. Marcellus Pittman, Nas1 are finally back on Bosconi Extra Virgin with a new album titled Polaris Time.
It’s a multi colored sonic adventure, moving from their hip hop and detroit house roots to a new palette of sounds including afro percussions and fresher synth lines blended together into a unique electronic soundscape that creates exotic, psychedelic atmospheres and unconventional, raw midtempo dance-floor tracks.
The Album begins with the enchanting ballad of “L’ isola di Serie B” , moving deeper with the spaced out vibe of Domino Skii , landing on the more tropical and frivolous scenarios of “Cicci Briucci” and on the laid-back interlude of “Il Sangue Non Serve A Niente”.
In the beginning of the flip side appears instead the jazzy and uplifting first cut named “Frigo Deca”, followed by the freaky jam of “Come Thru” and the adventurous balearic tune “Hector Savage” ending with the ethereal closing skit “Il Sangue Non Serve A Niente (outro)"
