Futurepast mix 12 is a finely crafted collage of contemporary ambient gems and more unexpected oldies from an influential character of Brussels techno scene.

Having recently launched his own label efja, he is known, with his partners of the Metropolis crew, to be the ambassador of a richly textured sound, focused on progressive grooves and immersive textures.

Firmly based on solid references such as the timeless collaboration between Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto, this mix features atmospheric sceneries and polar waves as well as skeletal rhythms and liquid dubs.

On november 21st, Accents records will return with a split LP by Teriak and Saïph: a rich blend of experimental and functional tracks, ranging from spaced-out ambient to banging techno.
The A side by Teriak, half of Subterrean and modular enthusiast, is a shamanic-like initiation to the expressive forces of modular tones, a singular piece of hallucinogenic ambient music that plays with phasing and stratification, layering acid patterns, weeping synths and warped chants to induce an hypnosis state.
The B side by Saïph, a young producer who released an EP on ARTS this year, is a more explicit evocation of dancing rites and nocturnal ceremonies, with a particular focus on sound design details. Through the 4 tracks, Saiph delivers different approaches to the soundtrack of inner euphoria and synchronized mutual bliss. With these heavy rolling kick drums, bold nervous basslines and crackling rhythms, he continues to refine his own signature for our growing pleasure.
This will be available on our bandcamp, digital and physical with a limited edition cassette. The split LP format and the DIY release process are a great way for us to pursue our mission : support the most exciting and unsung artists of our scene and to curate and release their work under the best possible form.

This week an ambient to dub techno to hypnothic techno trip with Ossifer.

Ossifer is a techno artist hailing from Montreal. Specializing in overtone-heavy, polyrhythmic styles, much of his inspiration is drawn from the ritualistic practices of various cultures and the liminal states they encourage. He enjoys discovering obscure electronic music from across the ages and is becoming known for his hypnotic, atmospheric productions. 

He is co-manager of North Of Nowhere Records and is a member of the vol. x, Exposé Noir, and Homegrown Harvest collectives.

Proud to release the 19th podcast of our series, another vibrant set of Thomas Hayes. 

This is his second mix for Futurepast label recorded when after more than three years he went back on stage playing an experimental set in an ambient setting. The event was organised by a brand new collective called Do-Dream On and took place at 'De Tuin Van Heden' in Ghent on Sunday 17th of September. 

The idea behind the set was to play something rather unusual, soothing and mind-bending at the same time. 

An invitation to explore your curiosity and mindfully contribute to this exceptional recording, allowing it to influence your inner essence.

A timeless music connoisseur, Kenya Bahana Sastropawiro, affectionately known as Kenya. Immersed in rhythmic instruments from an early age, she comes from a musically inclined family with roots in the grassroots. The exploration of different dance floors since her childhood has honed her intuition and allowed her to create a diverse palette of personal grooves.

From powerful rhythmic beats and pulsating bass lines to delicate melodic tones, the Yogyakarta-born Kenya's musical selections range from a wide variety of styles. Her choice of music is a description of her world of transitory music.

"The universe sings a deep eternal song, it is the base of the smallest form of life. Weaving in the pattern that is both beauty and chaos. A combination of painful electric shock and magnificent swirling chords.

Through this brief emptiness, in fear and darkness, that merged into one, one bond. Through this weaving mixtape, trying to feel, trying not to be distorted into the void. The weaving of sounds lead you down a route to new places and gives you some different ideas, beautiful and chaotic."
