This is a track that has been in the works for a while.  Doing a collab is  something Fullyard  @steve-fullyard and I had talked about since last Fall really.  It finally made it and it's pretty far out. Big thanks to his fiancé Night Owl  for the amazing vocals there in the 2nd half of this thing. I am proud to introduce my first collaboration with Mizero (@mizero-two), an artist that I deeply admire and respect. She wrote some awesome lyrics for the weird backing track I had sent to her, and her beautiful, peculiar singing inspired me to further develop the music, overdubbing a bassline and a couple of guitar parts. Quite surprisingly, this piece eventually turned out to have a sort of a rock'n'roll vibe, even though we didn't do that on purpose. In fact, I guess it's a spontaneous combination of several musical styles, just for a change...
To say a word about the concept, I would simply describe it as a love song concerning time. We've thought of time as dark, heavy sonic matter relentlessly leaking out of the hands of a clock and slowly creeping its way into the distance between two lovers, be it a real or a figurative space. Of course, the nature of these lovers itself might be interpreted metaphorically...
Huge thanks to Mizero for offering me this great opportunity to create new music together!

“Just a Boy” is a haunting indie-blues track by Three Photons, crafted in response to a tragic local event. With raw vocals, analog warmth, and soulful instrumentation—including Jeff Roberts on bass and Andrew Borderick on B3 organ—the song captures the ache of senseless loss and the fragility of youth. Mixed with precision and emotional care, it stands as a sonic memorial: intimate, reflective, and deeply human.

A big thank you to Jeff Roberts and Andrew Borderick for playing on....."Just a Boy".

This sad and devastating local story has been on my mind for a long time.... I'm reminded about this tragedy nearly everyday as I run along the Mississippi Blvd and see the memorial.

All the sounds you are about to hear are made from real instruments, I used 3000 year old Mayan ,Aztec and Inca flute samples.
Ancient civilizations didn't used the same notes we use today, those early musical instruments like flutes were just mimicking what they heard in the rainforest, animals like birds, owls, wolfs, parrots etc...
This is by far the largest piece I wrote and I am exhausted.

A fun collaboration of a song by Willie Dixon, made when my friend Tanya was in her last days of the 14 day quarantine in a hotel in Tasmania. She recorded some drums and finger cymbals on her phone and we stitched this blues classic together. 

A few additions are still needed when we get together in the home studio in person.

Track shows a very delicate theme and a quite hard-riffed part, both alternating and finally flowing up to an endless symphonic dream (words are half a poem I wrote previously (not these, but lyrics below)).
