Founded by Icelandic frontman, Hakon Aðalsteinsson - an ex-member of Singapore Sling who are often hailed as founding members of the new psych sound - The Third Sound came into being in Rome in 2010 and have since relocated to Berlin.

Since forming, The Third Sound have enjoyed the support of Anton Newcombe, who released their self-titled first album, on his label A Recordings, and chose the group to support his band The Brian Jonestown Massacre on tour in Europe. He also provided the studio for recording their second album The Third Sound of Destruction and Creation which was released on Fuzz Club in 2013. Most recently they’ve shared members with Anton Newcombe and Tess Parks’ band, which led to Parks’ appearance on the single “You Are Not Here” from the group's third album, Gospels of Degeneration, to be released April 2016 on Fuzz Club.

The have also taken part in the Fuzz Club Split Single series, partnering with The Underground Youth on Split Single No. 2.

What began as somewhat of a solo project by Aðalsteinsson, the new album sees The Third Sound stretching its definition with deeper levels of collaboration between band members and the influence of a new character in its story, the city of Berlin.

The Third Sound is Hakon Aðalsteinsson, who creates the concept for each song and writes the lyrics, guitarist Robin Hughes who develops the guitar parts, Leo Kaage on drums. The trio co-produced Gospels of Degeneration, which was recorded in Berlin in Kaage’s homebuilt studio with gear that was begged, borrowed and stolen from friends and collaborators.

The group’s sound has been described as “ebbing between light and dark, dream and reality, pop and experimentalism” and “ranging from hypnotic soundscapes to tweaked out and fuzzed up numbers.” In a recent premiere on Clash Music they were described as "lynchpins of the psychedelic underground."

Walrus Ghost's (@walrus-ghost) 'Uplifting Themes For The Naysayer' is essentially a conversation between organic sound and artificial design. Immersed in rich textures and the meticulous processing of analog instrumentation, the songs facilitate moments of exchange between tranquil subtleties and abrasive tensions. These intertwining moments come and go as the record plays out, but they follow us throughout, leaving us with a soundscape that exists in both beautiful harmony and eerie decay.

Slow Waves is a collection of multi-layered memories, stacked like grainy polaroids in an old box in the closet or under the bed while the colours fade. A young Rob at the beach or on his first day of grammar school. Images of travels across Europe and Japan, moments slipping in trains or planes while landscapes pass by. Memories so unique to his life, yet so similar to the fading memories of youth and adolescence we all have...

After a series of well acclaimed EP’s, each of them created at very specific moments in the artists life, @submerse took the time and sat down to reflect and convert all these memories into his first full length album on Project: Mooncircle.

'Slow Waves' comes out worldwide on limited double vinyl, limited handmade and handpainted cassette edition (both including download code) as well as a limited edition CD including a bonus track via @flaurecords in Japan.

Portugal’s 10 000 Russos are the latest to join the Fuzz Club Session alumni, with the 12” set for release January 22nd. Russos’ live session encapsulates their incredible droning psychedelia at its most raw and industrial, the live analogue recording allowing the band to shine in all their noisy glory. 

Offering four dark, experimental soundscapes that are structured by an array of effects and loops; the swathes of celestial noise and howling feedback underpinned by driving, monolithic Neu!-esque rhythms, hypnotic droning guitars a la Spacemen 3 and atonal, reverb-soaked vocals bringing to mind Mark E Smith on a ton of acid

MAYFLOWER MADAME - Before I Fall

Rumbling out of the humid, mountainous plains of Tucson, Arizona is The Myrrors, something of a singular entity in the exploratory psychedelic underground. For over a decade their self-professed “Sonoran trance music” has been inducing states of bewildered paralysis on audiences across the world - when the band are left to their own devices even the most adamant mind will struggle to break free from their enchanting, utterly-mesmeric spell.

With three highly-praised albums behind them and a fourth out soon on Beyond Beyond Is Beyond, London-label Fuzz Club are set to release a new live album from the band as part of their Fuzz Club Session series, which has previously boasted the likes of Night Beats, Heaters, Holy Wave, The Entrance Band and many more. Being long-time favourites of the label – Fuzz Club having released their debut album ‘Burning Circles In The Sky’ – it was only a matter of time until The Myrrors' sprawling, sun-weathered drone found a home in the Fuzz Club Session collection.
The Myrrors' session is comprised of three bewitching tracks that evoke warm images of the sandy plains of the Sonoran desert that they call home, underpinned by a worldly influence of traditional Eastern folk. Complete with meandering violins, shamanic vocals and slow-burning (yet oh-so-expansive) instrumentation, the live recording of the Fuzz Club Session allows the tracks to take on an even more hypnotic form. Though it may have been recorded in The Pool Studio in South East London, if you close your eyes you might just find yourself transported back in time to a ramshackle opium den surrounded by vacant minds and the lingering smell of incense.

The LP is comprised of one track from their 2015 opus Arena Negra ('Juanito Laguna...'), one from a special 45 released back in 2016 ('Semillas Sembradas') and a brand new cut from their forthcoming album, Borderlands, to be released later this year ('Note From The Underground'). The Myrrors’ Fuzz Club Session is due for release July 27th on vinyl with accompanying videos that were filmed on the day.

Based in East London, Fuzz Club has gained a reputation for surfacing the best emerging talent from Europe and beyond, and releasing them on high end, limited edition vinyl pressings, alongside a roster of the best known names in the underground scene including Anton Newcombe, Goat, Alan Vega, The Black Angels, Dead Skeletons, A Place to Bury Strangers, The Telescopes, Sonic Jesus and The Underground Youth.
Established in rural Norway during the 24 hour darkness of the Arctic winter, Fuzz Club entered the scene in 2012 with their compilation The Reverb Conspiracy – made in collaboration with Austin Psych Fest – a now annual release capturing the essence of the underground scene as it is today.
Today Fuzz Club has around 20 artists and over 40 releases.
