Movements have a zenith that is unknown to us until long after it has past. And even then they are clouded by our own interpretations. All we can do is enjoy this exact moment for what it is, untethered from expectation...

Between their residency on Istanbul based Root Radio, multiple guest shows, VA appearances, activism and performances across the Copenhagen club scene, Azi aka. KUCHULU is swiftly making a name for themselves. As a DJ, they create sceneries where otherwise different styles bend and attach to each other at the same time as they dislocate.

This mix is a real treat, blending brooding ambiences with soaring experimental pop, gritty breaks, future club styles and beyond.

Dolphin Dreamland

Allergy Season alum Love Letters and label boss Physical Therapy team up to tackle new territory on Hunk. In two distinct versions, the duo explore prismatic soundscapes and gut-rattling bass.

Echoing across 13 minutes, the ‘Ouroboros Mix’ is an epic of dark dub in half-time. Layers of heady sound build and decay through the song’s several movements, while ballooning delays ricochet across syrup-thick low end. It’s a winding trip, weaving tension and release.

The pair buff things up for the ‘Herculean Mix,’ a stripped back techno interpretation, which builds Hunk’s heavy bass lines from squelch to squall. The mind-bending sound palette is glued to a breakneck 606 drum machine for a peak time potency.

Mexico City's Rodman doesn't mess about with this EP, six diverse cuts for the dance floor!
Mexican artist Rodman dives deep on his Falcata EP for Ineffable Records, containing five club-ready tracks, with sound textures being the focus, and a remix from WVWV head honcho Octoptic. Following on from the success of his debut La Fragua which featured fellow Mexican, Nico (Timedance/Grid).
The record's title comes from the name of an ancient sword, which is quite apt as the sharp sound-design & impressive perc work slices through the EP from start to finish. It fluctuates between moods, touching on the deeper, dubbed out & echoed sounds of Rodman's palette, and moving swiftly into complex rhythmic patterns that were definitely built with the club in mind. Thus providing the perfect blend between enjoyable listening and being weapons for the dance floor.
Being one of Mexico City's superb up and coming producers, Rodman continues his perfect streak of releases to date with this breathtaking release. Finding itself on a label that shines a light on Mexican artists, it just feels like a perfect match.
