WHATCLASS, the trailblazing platform redefining music learning through artist-led Classes, mentorship, and structured curriculums, has joined forces with iconic DJ and producer Joris Voorn and his label, Spectrum, to offer a select group of emerging, and established, producers the opportunity to release their music on Spectrum.

Voorn, who has collaborated with WHATCLASS to create an exclusive tutorial, curated submissions from the platform's students, ultimately selecting five standout tracks for this debut WHATCLASS compilation. The resulting collection highlights innovative sounds and fresh perspectives from aspiring international artists.

Opening the compilation is Slovenian producer Eskape with 'Lost Desert,' a track that sets the mood with warm pads, wistful melodies, and ethereal vocals - a perfect introduction to our new Spectrum journey. Following is Brazilian duo Fernandez & Silvera with 'Parallel Life,' building on the momentum of their recent Purified signing 'Emptiness.' The duo's track combines delicate synths, flutes, and minimal percussion to create an uplifting, melodic soundscape.

Representing the UK, Jay Lapse raises the energy with 'CB1,' marked by relentless hi-hats, a pounding kick drum, and haunting keys that form a stark, desolate techno soundscape, softened by its eerie strings.

From there, the compilation shifts to a housier vibe with Swedish producer Magnuss and his groovy, deep houser 'I Can Feel It,' followed by the hypnotic, percussive beats of Shombo's 'Feel Ya' - two standout house cuts guaranteed to energise any dance floor and a fitting finale for this debut showcase of exciting talent.

Eskape - Lost Desert

A short live sketch exploring the possibilities of mixing and inverting gates and triggers. The piece features a bassline and arpeggio from a blend of Make Noise XPO and Mutable Instruments Plaits. Sequencing for both was done with QuBit Bloom and Noise Engineering Numeric Digitalis. The gate and trigger sequencing comes from an Intellijel Steppy, with modulation from a Batumi, and final logic handled by the Klavis Two Bits module.
