The Swedish hip-hop band Looptroop Rockers, which originated in the area of Västerås, Sweden, got its start as Looptroop in 1992 when high school buddies, Promoe, Embee and Cosmic joined forces to start releasing cassettes to friends and the local hiphop scene in Västerås.
In 1995, the trio was joined by Supreme. Between the years of 1992-2000, the group worked hard to independently release a series of four full-length albums on cassette and several vinyl EPs and 12” vinyls. The albums included Superstars (1993), Threesicksteez (1995), From the Waxcabinet (1996) and Punx Not Dead (1998). By the time the group started its own record label called David Vs. Goliath (commonly referred to as DVSG), they were also able to land a big distribution deal with Burning Heart Records. The release of the group's first big studio album, Modern Day City Symphony came in 2000. Under the group's original name Looptroop, they released two more albums, The Struggle Continues (2002) and Fort Europa (2005). After the Fort Europa tour Cosmic dropped off to focus on other things than music. The group then changed the name to Looptroop Rockers which already had been their unofficial name since the late 90’s and they released their fourth album Good Things (2008). A couple of years later Cosmic found new energy and love for making music again so reunited they released Professional Dreamers (2011), Mitt Hjärta Är En Bomb (2013), which is their first full length album in Swedish, and Naked Swedes (2014).

Each of the members have also been working on a series of personal endeavors, including a solo album Tellings From Solitaria (2004), by Embee, which earned a Swedish Grammy Award for Best Hip-Hop/Soul album followed up by Mellow Turning Moment (2010). Embee and Cosmic also have a side project called The Casual Brothers and they have released three EPs so far including The Casual Brothers EP (2001), Customer’s Choice (2003) and Grey (2016). Promoe have been really active on releasing solo stuff and collaborating with artists and producers from all over the world. In 2001 he realeased his solo debut Government Music after that came the classic album The Long Distance Runner from 2004 on which he worked with several highly regarded artists from Jamaica. On his third album he again worked with Jamaican artists on White Man’s Burden (2006) and a documentary about that process is included in the CD/DVD Standard Bearer from 2007. Kråksången (2009) is Promoe’s first album in Swedish and the first single Svennebanan was #1 on the Swedish singles chart. The following albums Bondfångeri (2009), Mellan Passion & Mani (2015) and Fult Folk (2016) is also in Swedish.

Looptroop Rockers really made a name for themselves by touring heavily and they have touched ground in 30+ countries during their career.

2017 they celebrated 25 years together as a group but shows no signs of slowing down. During that year they released 25 tracks in 25 weeks. They were also inducted into Swedish Music Hall of Fame in March 2017.

Flashback. At the turn of the first decade of 2000, a stray cat from the Parisian suburbs named Fritz came to skin the bling bling of the time by imposing his claw on the scene of international indie rap. With Slow Down and On & On a series of EPs on 7’ in an ultra-efficient jazzy manifesto, the beatmaker earned his stripes with class and insolence. Since then, the path of the Paris’ tom cat is built over his experiences and meetings, including the album Beats Per Minute in duet with rapper Audessey (Soundsci), released on the prestigious American label Slice Of Spice (Lord Finesse, Marco Polo...). One will not need more to register the legend of ACCF on the pantheon of the most talented French producers of international underground Hip Hop and confirm the adage that cats control the world.
In 2015, Fritz decides to condense his night wanderings in his first album Tribulations & Life of, an album anchored in his time, made in the moment and with instinct. A few years later, crowned by a signature at the legendary German label HHV, Fritz continues to drag his feline silhouette to the four corners of the globe. So that listening to his latest album Vertical Iris gives the pleasant sensation of moving forward Stealthily in known terrain as on a new land to clear.
Addictive samples, raw and rough tones nuanced from the blue notes of the 90’s rap punctuated by cinematographic atmospheres, the same flawless recipe applied since its beginnings, is here reinforced by a slew of hand-picked featurings such as Black Josh (UK), Audessey (US), Sach (The Nonce / US), Glad2mecha (US), LayFullStop (UK) ...

Au détour de la première décennie 2000, un chat de gouttière de la banlieue parisienne nommé Fritz venait écorcher le bling bling de l’époque en imposant sa griffe sur la scène du rap indé international. Avec "Slow Down" et "On & On" une série de EP 45 tours inscrits dans un manifeste jazzy ultra efficace, le beatmaker gagnait ses galons avec classe et insolence. Depuis, le chemin du matou parisien se construit au fil de ses expériences et rencontres, notamment l’album Beats Per Minute en duo avec le rapper Audessey (Soundsci), sorti sur le prestigieux label américain Slice Of Spice (Lord Finesse, Marco Polo...). Il n’en faudra pas plus pour inscrire la légende de A Cat Called Fritz au panthéon des producteurs français les plus talentueux du Hip Hop underground international et confirmer l’adage qui veut que les chats contrôlent le monde.
En 2015 Fritz décide de condenser ses errances nocturnes dans son premier album Tribulations & Life of, un album ancré dans son époque, fait dans l’instant et avec instinct. Quelques années plus tard, auréolé d’une signature chez le mythique label allemand HHV, Fritz continue de trainer sa silhouette féline aux quatre coins du globe. Si bien que l’écoute de son dernier opus Vertical Iris donne l’agréable sensation d’avancer à pas de velours en terrain connu comme sur une terre nouvelle à défricher. Samples addictifs, sonorités brutes et rugueuses nuancées des notes bleues propres au rap des 90’s ponctués d’atmosphères cinématographiques, la même recette sans faille appliquée depuis ses débuts se trouve ici renforcée par une flopée de featurings triés sur le volet tels que Black Josh (UK), Audessey (US), Sach (The Nonce/US), Glad2mecha (US), LayFullStop (UK)...
