“This is a four tracks ep i’ve realized during this years of (apparently) silence. i’ve work on them many times, in different moment of my life since 2014, trying to describes that kind of “comfortable delirium of reflection” that sculpt my silences during my life.” This are the words used by phooka to introducing this works, 4 original tracks, from the deep unconscious and reflective mood. The name of the Ep is inspiring by Curtis Yarvin and Nick Land reactionary movement and is used to focus attention on that kind of dark “Age of Enlightenment”, where we live and of wich these traces are made of. From the resampling of Sherpas chants (used in Sherpa Lament) to the field recordings of “Seening the light, Becoming Blind” & “Gain of Function” the item of this release is to investigate the sound of that kind of silence that is too loud to be listened to but that always cover our life. Close the EP an huge remix by Maurizio Cascella, who re-skulpt “Seeing the light, becoming Blind”giving to the track a more aggressive timbre without however upsetting the mood and soul of the track.

For this months episode for Fango Radio, Melantónia is pleased to present Toshiki Shimada from the Berlin based collective, Dry Agency.
He chooses to play tracks which differ in style but he has consistent fashion in detail and the core - psychedelic and hypnotic sounds which are cultivated in the fertile club culture in Japan.
His play focuses on creating tension and releasing energy through creating layers.
In March of this year began his series of listening session at "Motif Wein" in Berlin Neukölln, dedicated to ambient music up to spacy jazz.

"Hedora" es un guiño al monstruo ficticio creado por Yoshimitsu Banno, Hedorah (como se escribe realmente) fue nombrado a partir de hedoro, la palabra japonesa para fango, vómito, babaza o desecho químico.
Fue visto por primera vez en la película de 1971 Godzilla vs. Hedorah. Guiño al vómito músical de estos meses fangosos, desechando la sobre información por noches de selección y verde.

Mysteries of the Deep has released its third and final compilation, rounding out the three-part seasonal series that began earlier this year. Each has been distinct and reflective of the season of its release; the first, released in spring, leaned towards the organic and ethereal. The second—a summer release—was oriented towards rhythmic vitality. And the third installment in the series, like the winter season, is deep, dark, and contemplative: a call to turn inwards. The thread that connects each track in Chapter Three is mood: each one of these tracks brings to mind the inward spaces of winter. From the smoky, ghost-like vocals of Xexzy’s “Lost” to the percussive fervor of Birds of Prey’s “Escapement,” this compilation offers a dynamic range of sounds, while remaining sonically coherent.

Thomas Ragsdale’s “Kicking Ox” makes for a fitting opening, for its dark pulse and somber strings set the tone for what’s to follow. Much of this work seems to reflect the end of a long, chaotic year; often these arrangements are stark, unsettling and dystopian, like Push for Night’s tense, cinematic “Fingering the Fuse” and Israel Vines’ “Shallow Pursuits.” Elements like the ragged chords of Rafael Anton Irisarri’s “Haggard,” the steady, buried kick in Christina Giannone’s “Lapsed Contentment” or the sonic droplets of Radere’s “Harm Matrix,” lend to a sparse, wintry atmosphere. But, as within any bleak, snowy landscape, there’s the occasional sheen of light. Joachim Spieth’s “Luna,” and Rhaeticus’ “Standing on Concrete” are heightened and emotionally rich. Overall, the third and final release grounds itself in an identity that feels distinctly different from the first two chapters, and yet simultaneously completes the arc of the series, which has showcased over three dozen artists dedicated to their craft.
