barnap is a passionate musician who has loved making music since childhood. In 2023, he started producing his own tracks, combining elements from genres such as ambient, downtempo, experimental electronic, and spoken word. His goal is to create music that sparks meaningful conversations.

The Raincats is the result of a meeting between two street musicians in the Lisbon metro in 2005.
Alain (Portugal) was playing acoustic guitar and singing protest songs, having played bass /guitar and vocals in several Portuguese bands since the late eighties. Becky (UK) had just arrived from Prague and Greece, where she had been playing bluegrass, blues and klezmer violin.
Together they formed a street team and toured Portugal and Spain, playing on the streets and in small venues, as well as guesting at the Boom Festival 2006. Their repertoire was a unique blend of world, folk, blues and gypsy music (performed in seven different languages!).
In York (UK) in 2007, they began seriously composing and recording their own music, based. 
After a stay in 2009 in Barcelona, playing regularly with other street musicians in the famous Gaudi park, they returned to Portugal in 2010, teaming up with differents musicians : João Moreira on percussion and Zé Peps on Slide & acoustic guitar.

Around 2011  they changed formation  with Didier Bonneau on electric guitar bringing a more jazzy feeling to the arrangements and Daniel Rosado on Laptop creating beats and all sorts of atmopheres and effects with becky´s voice.

In 2014, Rain Cats' debut EP 'Ocean Songs' is a collaboration between Becky Whitcombe (violin / vocals), Alain Anastácio (acoustic guitar / bass), Didier Bonneau (electric guitar) and Daniel Rosado (programming / production).

The Rain Cats decided to break up in 2015 due to personal issues.

Uploading almost all their songs on Soundcloud and showing all the music they made together, even with all the imperfection of the home recording, we think this captures their musical story and gives us a glimpse into what Rain Cats was about......A musical journey about love or the lack of it.

Alain, a music lover since early age, singer, guitarist & bass player and trilingual (among a few good street acts was his famous rendition in Serbian of Saban Bajramovic - Peno).

Becky, a female traveller , a singer, a violinist, a poet with a gift for uncovering the dark places of the human condition and one can feel in her lyrics a constant sense of questioning our most inner emotions and feelings regarding truth, justice, life  and love.
The Rain Cats split up in 2015, almost 10 years after they met in Lisbon. The circle was closed but maybe one day they will meet again to perform their songs!!
