The old skool bouncy techno and gabber seems to be popular so here is another one, this time some 90's bouncy stuff influenced by the Rezerection events and the Scottish scene. Contains lots of great tracks from Europe plus some home grown Scottish anthems from the likes of Scott Brown, Bass Generator, Technotrance, Gordon Tennant etc from a time when everyone was playing Scottish tracks, sadly it didn't last for various reasons but at least we were left with a lot of amazing music, enjoy!

Enzyme has three imprints: Enzyme K7, Enzyme VIP and Enzyme X. 'It turns out that many techno and electro artists from all walks of life are very much inspired by the old hardcore scene. I'm also working on hard techno myself and I notice that it's a bit of familiar territory here and there.' In the DJ Shortlist he goes all the way, from neo-soul and soundcloud rap to hardcore and rock-hard techno.'

Ruffex Records is a sub label of the mighty Ruffneck Records 🇳🇱 Founded by Patrick van Kerckhoven (aka DJ Ruffneck/Ectomorph) as a home for his own unique sound, which would later come to be known as 'artcore'.

Breakbeats have always played a very important part in all releases on the label and combined with tearing Juno synths and heavily distorted kick drums it has left its permanent impression on the entire hardcore scene.

The label ran from 1995-1997 and released 12 eps. All of the releases are in this mix, I’ve been slowly putting my collection together over the last couple of years & this is the first time I’ve included all releases from a label in a mix. The label is that good.

In 1995 DJ Ruffneck started a sub label running alongside the infamous Ruffneck Alliance, Ruffex Records.

It ran for 2 years and for me at least, kinda went under the radar.  You'd rarely hear the tracks from the label played, at least here in Scotland, yet they were brilliant.

The label only run for 2 years, but put out 12 releases in that time, quite a feat!

This mix features every track from those 12 releases.  From the harder edged tracks to the lighter 'happy gabber' that was getting popular at the time.

One for the 90's crew and those who are just discovering this stuff first time round.
