In the conclusion of chapter 1, our protagonist Caroline has followed Dr. Mortice from his space station to his sprawling science facility in Japan. She continues her chase in Chapter 2, blasting through residential areas, USC labs, cultist encampments, and even another dimension of reality. When Caroline finally does finally face Dr. Mortice in battle, she learns that her true target Cromune may be setting something in motion that makes the stakes far greater than imagined. Inside Caroline, something is waking up…
