Next on ICONYC Noir we welcome Mexican superstar Vazik who teamed up with enigmatic duo High on Mars to bring us their brand-new 'Out of your Mind EP'. Hailing from Mexico & Iran respectively, the trio drops by with a lovely progressive and melodic techno influenced EP, which is easily one of their best body of works to date.

The opening track 'Surge of Energy' features rich driving textures; as well as euphoric and moody progressive melodic techno vibes to satisfy clubbing, uplifting and feel-good needs, which are the keywords for this beautiful and extraordinary release. Utilizing a hypnotizing groove as the basis of the mix underpinned by a stacked bassline that gradually eases its way to the breakdown of breaks percussive elements before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect. A sure fire winner. Essential stuff!

The accompanying title track 'Out of your Mind' delivers dance floor-oriented beats to get you moving. Vazik & High on Mars work their magic as roomy glowing love, filtered stabs and stunning groove are the name of the game, as they work their way into a drop full of tension and excitement, with the understated yet driving bassline powering the groove along. The trio manages to keep the energy up, allowing the driving melodic house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape to round off this classy underground crowd pleaser.

Originally from Dublin but now firmly ensconced in his adopted Australian home, Alan Thomas Doyle has carved a growing reputation with his Amháin production moniker. Here he joins forces with Stockholm producer EMPHI for a classy outing of proper progressive which doubles as both their Balance Music debut.

A fresh morning glow imbues 'Hallen'. The percussion is crisp, sizzling with vibrant urgency, complemented by a gentle bottom end. Above it all, hoisted high in the sky, hangs a mist, a clearing fog filled with reverb carrying wonderful sounds. From deep within that mist, the rising tone of an expectant synth materialises. It promotes unity and joy, offering warm comfort after a long night.

With 'Hekla,' we progress towards the moment the sun sets. The minor keys create a more mysterious force, suggesting deeper introspection. The drums are sturdier yet inviting, made more hypnotic by the rhythmic shift of the bass throb. A syncopated wood block vibrates, serving as a starting point for classic synth sounds to emerge. During the breakdown, a vocal sample is introduced, offering prudent, reflective advice. The night is looking good.

Woody has started to play music at the age of 15 in 2000 with his high school class mates . He has been introduced to underground music by his older brother who had a high-end HiFi store and he was using underground electronic music to demo the sound systems. 
Woody first started to play HipHop, Funk, Breaks and Drum And Bass. Around  2004-2005 by accident he has participated in an outdoor summer Psy Trance party which had a huge influence on his music journey. After this Woody has started to play more and more 4/4 electronic music, but mainly progressive Psy things. 
After some years in the Psy scene Woody started to be interested in other genres like Techno, House, Tech House and Minimal.

When Woody has met with HiBoo in 2010 (back in the days known as Boolint), who introduced him into music production, they have started a project called BitBusters together. As BitBuster they have played live acts together on all kind of events in the Psy and Techno scene. Soon the group has been extended with TiaNova ( Timi Szegedi ) who was performing live vocal on their sets and made their sets “more alive”.
In 2015 they have started a project called MadCity and they have launched their own event series.

Woody started to focus on his own production when the Covid pandemic started. Since then he is constantly working on his own sound which is something like ProgressiveMelodicHouseAndBreakMinimalPsyTechno.
