Buenos Aires-based platform Maleza reaches the fifth instalment of its respected and finely curated compilation. “En la Superficie, Vol. 05” brings together an interesting selection of artists who delivered insightful contributions to the release: Adamant, DJ Braver (SXDNS288), Gabriel Ferreira, Deep Hale, and Fernanda Arrau (SXDNS158) feat. Elias Deepman, each one of them contributing with their own characteristic sonorities and representing exactly the kind of soundscape the label intends to provide: Deep and intense, groovy and vibrant, trippy and emotive.

The track we chose to premiere comes from the creative and restless mind of Tomas Panisse aka Adamant. “Mackie” is a melodic and atmospheric Breakbeat House cut with a particular Ravey/Balearic mood provided by an ethereal and beautiful pad, nervous synth layers, and a bassline with attitude. A theme of simple construction but extremely effective that pairs perfectly both with sandy beaches and dirty basements.

Born in Poland and raised in Detroit, Magda's realm as an artist spans far beyond the typical role of DJ and producer, as she's also involved in music technology collaborations and events to producing premium Tequila - creating a truly unique, multifaceted expression of herself. When she's behind the decks, you'll never know what to expect: her wide selection spans from old-school house grooves into more hard and trippy electro tunes, all together into a formidable arsenal of electronic beats. Recently, Magda has produced and performed alongside T.B. Arthur as Blotter Trax, combining modular synthesis, live improvisation and rhythmic exploration. What's next? We don't know, but in the meantime, enjoy this 1-hour recording from the one and only Magda.

Gabriel Ferreira strikes again with his EP "Thick Fluids".

The variety and, at the same time, the unity of chosen sounds, feelings and arrangements makes another special work by Gabriel.

"Aspect" opens the set with a intriguing pad, it evolves exploring the groove with a deep kick and a marked bassline. The track moves step by step towards a composition, which seems to be regulated somehow also through random selected sounds and experiments.

The valiant experimentation and continue exploration makes 'Thick Fluid' so much more than dance-floor entertainment. It brings low sounds with a non stop groove and dirty vocal which turns the track in a relax and thickish groove.

With 'Lowwood' the creation of nothing more and nothing less than a new outlook via acoustic imagination displays new facets and a particular style for dancers. This track borns from an infinite pad with suspense pitches. It brings changes of velocities, rhythmics, and it makes a different option for those curious people.

'DE9 Fragments' is a series of fragmented audio edits based upon my live DJ set recordings. Each one will attempt to capture the feeling and direction of the night, giving those who were there a reminder of the events they experienced while giving those who were not present a fragmented distortion of what they missed.

Gabriel Ferreira is a multifaceted artist inside the music world: DJ, producer, remixer, and co-owner of the label Ninefont music. Inspired by indie and retro music but creative with his particular style. His work is characterized by fresh visions and innovative rhythms throwing sounds from funk to techno.

Growed up in Buenos Aires - Argentina - based in Barcelona & Mallorca - Spain - 
He was always drawn to older music rhythms. His career as a producer starts at the young age of 18 with his first introduction to music instruments and software - stimulated by feelings of having his own music trips. His works were considered as extravagant, evolutionary, developing fresh music all time.

In 2011 Gabriel signed on Items & Things - label guided by Magda, Troy Pierce and Marc Houle - with his first track called 'Sill’. Two years later he released a second EP with five tracks called 'Good Trip', showing the real feeling of his kind of music. From that season, Gabriel started to work hard every day to improve the productions more and more. He has almost 20 single releases in many digital and vinyl label records [Items & Things, Ninefont, Creepy Finger Records, Maleza, Piso Records, This Side Up, LDG...]

As a DJ, Gabriel has played at many cities around the world and in some of the biggest CLUBS such as: Warung (Bra), Baum (Col), Mandarine Park (Ar), Bahrein (Ar), Cocoliche (Ar) Superclub, (Ar), Crobar (Ar), Sisyphos (De), Wilden Renate (De), Elefant (No), Faraway (Per), Kik Bar (Ch), among others.
He was part of first steps of Crobar be Techno (Argentina) playing as resident since 2012 to 2015 and sharing gigs with many referring artists of the world techno scene: Magda, Marc Houle, Troy Pierce, Camea, John Acqaviva,  Dustin Zahn, The Junkies, Phil Kieran, Stefano Noferini, Hobo, Dj Anna , Jonas Kopp, Jay Lumen,  among others.

Together with his brother Javier they run a label called Ninefont, based on minimal, techno and disco music. Patience and passion along with Javier and Gabriel´s ear for quality music Ninefont has gained respect around the world. Creating a different concept from the Argentinian electronic scene. They based the label sound closer to the Berlin and Paris's style. Currently their main challenge is to develop a musical concept that relates to other parts of the world, this is the main philosophy behind the label.

In 2017 he released Karma EP & Sangomic EP with a hard impact in charts and dance floors around the world. This year was full of successes leading Gabriel to be nominated by DJ MAG Latinoamerica as one of the best Argentinian Techno producers. At the same time same Ninefont was nominated as best label of year.

Currently Gabriel is based in Barcelona & Mallorca, Spain. He continues working and focusing on music vision with promising releases and gigs for this 2021.
